My in-laws came into town this weekend to spend time with my wife and her grandmother for mothers day. My father in law stopped in and surprised me with an early father's day gift.

He stated there was an estate sale on his street and apparently the owner was a wet shaver, collector, or both. He saw he had a number of items but walked away. Went back the next day and found everything half off. He grabbed what he could for with what was in his pocket. Needless to say I was floored! I wish I  old have been there. Stated there were scuttles, mugs, stropes, and a number of other items.

I do have some questions on the Christy razor. Has anyone used one? How does it shave? Are the NOS blades any good? And can newer blades be made to work in it?
Thought I would share some pics of what he brought me.

What a great early Father's Day gift Freddie!

I have never used a Christys razor but I hope someone will chime in.

I dig that Gem with the Scripto pen!

Now that is a pretty nifty collection you gotten there Smile

In regards to the Christy, I did a little googling and noticed someone posting over at "The Original Safety Too" about using an injector blade in it... YMMV and all that, but the poster over there stated it gave a "good enough for a workday" shave.

Thanks guys! I've started cleaning them up, getting them polished. Got the G bar cleaned, sanitized, and ready for tomorrows SOTD.  Shy

Thanks for the heads up on the Christy razor, WegianWarrior. I'm gonna dig into it a little bit and see what all I can do on it. Definitely want to be able to give it a run!

Thanks everyone. I was surprised at how Mild the G bar was. Granted I had 2 days growth so it might be more efficient as a daily. Still gave me a great shave! With exception of the Christy razor I've used or still currently own the others. Still going through getting them cleaned and ready for whisker wacking!
