Hello all,

Can't help but post two brushes that I purchased from Merkur Man just recently. I took a picture of the two brushes I bought next to the Plisson Size 20 in 2-band HMW I have.

Words can't state just how beautiful these brushes are! Originally it was to just be one brush, the brush on the left, but it had a little accident and a little chip got knocked out of it. Merkur Man did a fantastic job of repairing it, and while I know it's there, I have to purposefully angle it to even see it. It was while discussing what happened that it was mentioned he had another Plisson that he was going to sell eventually and wondered if I would like to do a combo deal. Oh how I remembered that brush in the middle and how I kicked myself for not having purchased it when I had the chance, and lo and behold, here it was before me! I wasn't about to let it escape a second time! I'm sure others recognize the vintage 70s/80s Plisson, and it is indeed as angel soft as it is made out to be. Uncanny soft! I reasoned that I would part with my Size 20 getting these two brushes together, but now I'm not so sure if I can... It has such a nice resiliency and face feel that complements the set. From left to right I would say just initially dry: 2 1 3 in terms of feel and resiliency.

Fantastic set of wonderful brushes! I have a Plisson 20 High Mountain White in natural horn myself and it's sweet luxury. But three? You are a lucky man!

Its funny how the vintage 18 has stayed within the TSN family. I was always too afraid to use it. It was incredibly soft and the splay was fantastic! :-)

Have fun using these terrific brushes.

A brush cleaning session turned into a very quick shave.  Blush

With such big lofted brushes and wide bloomers, and believe it or not they're not my biggest bloomers, really lets a big 2Qt. Bowl of Cella shine.  Biggrin

It might not seem that often at once a month at least, but I have such a large collection it can be hard to put all into the rotation. Wink

I think that is common with all of us. I have a small-medium rotation of brushes and only shave about once a week, maybe a 2 pass shave if I'm lucky. But I hope you like that vintage one. I only used it twice in a shave. Better that it is in the hands of someone who enjoys using it. I really liked using it but I had two issues with it. I didn't care for how large it was but main issue was it felt so rare and pristine for a vintage brush that I didn't feel comfortable using it. I thought I would keep it but it was better to let it go to Nathan and then on to you.

I am really looking forward to adding some HMW and EW brushes this year to the den.

Oh I love that vintage brush. Best vintage brush I have by far. I got some others that I like, but that Plisson is on a whole other level.

Geez my old Plisson has really gotten around.  I wouldn't have sold it if I didn't have two of them and I'm glad others are getting the experience.

While I agree that the old Plissons are magical, the more recent brushes aren't too shabby either and IMHO stack up just as well against the competition today as they did in decades past.
