While doing some product testing of two band hair, I was extremely surprised to find that the sample sent to me from the factory is extremely scratchy when dry, but extremely soft when wet. I mean, extremely as in not a sign of scritch at all.

Compared to the all my silvertips when dry, the 2 band felt like sandpaper. When wet, the 2 band is softer hands down.

Is it just this knot or is that normal?

i find some two-bands a bit scritchy when dry, but when wet, incredibly soft. If you want soft, gel-like, you should try the Rooney Heritage Stubbies. Wow, what a difference between the dry and wet brush!

I'm very glad that I don't lather up with a dry brush! Winky

I think the difference with the feeling when dry will mainly come from the 2-band hairs being thicker than the 3-band hairs individually. At least that's my best guess.

It depends what kind of two band badger.I found that on Simpson/shavemac/Morris and Fordran and some of the new TGN finest badger hair, but not in some Vie Long,Morris and Forndran (blonde badger from 2010) and old finest badger knots from TGN.

I agree with the comments from Celestino about some 2-bands feeling a little scritchy but the Rooney Heritage - soooo soft.
