Well I was notified today that my PRC Leviathan was shipped.  I had this razor built with buckeye burl scales and double pinned through the wedge.  Hope it will be here Monday and I can upload a few pics.

Congrats on the new blade. From what I hear they are as good to shave with as they are to look at.

[Image: tW42gfV.jpg]I know this is a little late but thought i would add my comment

i received a Leviathan recently too - about 2-3 weeks ago. I ordered mine with custom ebony scales and i am amazed with it.
Over the last few weeks i have used it half  a dozen times and it has become one of my "go to's".
when i am wondering what to use or in a rush and need a razor i know i feel comfortable with for a quick shave - its my first choice and it hasn't disappointed me yet

Beautiful - I have a Phoenix too. The shape and size takes some feeling to get used to with the balance - especially stropping

Great products and friendly guys running the place.

Yes this too is my second.  My first was a Kraken with black buffalo horn scales.  I had it for a year then decided to buy another from them.  I think they will be in business for quite some time due to their prices being affordable and the service they provide.

Thank you!  They are truly nice American made razors that are robust!

I have one on the way. Standard walnut scales/maple spacer. Can't wait to compare it to my Hart. American-made, by hand, but definitely much more reasonably priced.

You will have to post some pics.
I have a hart steel in 7/8 and sadly, not one of my favorites.

They are reasonably priced if you stay with the std. they have.  When you start to do different scales and some actual blade changes they tend to go up but rightfully so.  I am curious to hear your comparison.

Lloyd, what is it about the Hart you dislike.  I have seen them and looked at a used one but never pulled the trigger on one.

I believe my choice in the 7/8 is incorrect for me. I have a few more 7/8 but this much more 'chunkier.'

It was the first 'custom' item I ordered and was disappointed that the etching was smudged and I found the scales quality to be lacking. The scales were not as smooth, polished or sealed nearly as well as I expected (for the price). At first, I thought that was a compromise for these more unique products.
I don't have any complaints that are not attributed to my personal preferences but with dozens of razors, I find I have to make an effort to choose it.

Got my walnut Leviathan last week and my buckeye burl Leviathan this week. Great shaves from both.

I reset the bevel on one of them to a 'no-tape' bevel and wow does it shave close. Every bit as good as a Feather.

I left the other with the factory edge. One layer of tape.

I plan to do a comparison over the next little while between the two bevels for keenness and longevity. but I really don't like messing with tape. It's not like you have to hone 01 tool steel that often but still, it's just a pain messing with that tape.

Compared with the Hart...I can't tell a difference.

I understand.  I too expect quite a bit if custom made.

I would love to hear what the outcome is once you have had enough time under each blade.  Look forward to hearing back from you.
