Fellas,

I've recently discovered the wonders of the boar brush. I'm loving my Semogue 610 and my Omega whatever model number. I prefer the Omega, just wish it was smaller overall. I know that the majority of badger hair is sourced from China, is this true of boar hair as well?

Those of you with older boar brushes with the dyed band to make it look like badger hair; does the dye ever go away after extensive usage?

Thanks!

I don't know that the dye ever goes away.  When I was into boar brushes I would never purchase one that was dyed.

I have never seen the dye disappear. I don't foresee it doing so.

You can always have the knot from your Omega set into a custom handle at a lower loft. Shy

Why don't you try an Omega 10066. It's a very popular brush and it's only about $10. It has a 24 mm knot, 56 mm loft. No dyed hair.

I want to add a boar to my brush collection.  I am thinking about a Omega.

Has anyone ever tried any of the boar brushes from Zenith?

Yes, they are great and break in really fast.

It becomes fainter - that's what happened to many of my boar brushes. But it never goes away completely.

+1 on Zenith. I got two Zenith boar brushes (28x50 and 28x60) and am mightily impressed with both of them. Soft, yet firm, delicate and dense. They both outperformed my SOC brushes dramatically, so I gave them (SOC) away.

I predominantly am a badger brush user, but when it comes to my favorite triple milled soaps I reach out for the Zenith brushes more and more often.

Thanks for feedback. Also own a boar SOC, but not that impressed with it. After months of use it still loses hair strands.
