Just what the subject said.

It looks like a wrapped bar of soap. Would it work to grate it into a bowl and press it into a puck shape? Or is it used in some other way?

Great question Brian. Turns out this is a relatively soft/malleable soap.
Most gents cut off a smaller shave stick type chunk, or press half a bar into a bowl at a time. No need to grate, it's soft enough to mold into whatever puck shape you'd like.

By the way, everything "klar" I've lathered so far has been phenomenal.

i had a bar (since gone), but just cut it in small chunks and pressed it into a bowl, wet it and then pressed it down and smoothed it out.

you could always grate it and then mash it down.

I received a small chunk of it in a trade w/ syngent. I do the Randy method & just rub the chunk on my face & then proceed to face lather.

This is how I used it as well. I used to cut each bar in half (2 bars to a package) and then have 4 really large shave sticks. Biggrin Works great!

I really need to stop buying soaps. But it appears that's where my mind is right now.

But I have some Kabinett coming in. If it's the same lather quality as the Klar Seifen Sport, as long as I can get along with the scent, I might be asking why it isn't more popular and discussed more frequently.

I was stationed not more than 30 miles form Heidelberg for 2 1/2 years, and I don't remember any flower fields for them to make their scents (it was grape/wine and wheat/rye country, OK, sugar beets too), but of course they might purchase the EOs. Too, I didn't go everywhere in my tiny Fiat Spyder 850 those many years ago.

I'm really curious about this soap. Where can you find the best deal on it, and do any of the shops sell samples of it? Thanks

It is really inexpensive...around $20 for a full 1.1 pounds of the stuff. You could easily split it with 4 friends.

It is a fairly strong rose scent. When I stocked it, the scent of the Klar Kabinett really filled the room that it was stored in.

We done exactly that on the Portuguese forum - we split a couple of soaps among the members

I squeezed my portion into a Grundtal bowl from Ikea:

The soap is quite hard, but that can really be done... Tongue

A soft soap sounds good similar to RazoRock?

I'd say it's firmer than RazoRock soaps.

Definitely firmer than Razorock...it is closer in consistency to an Arko stick.

Same here Phil,

With Klar, you could say if it was in or out of stock without turning the lights on...

Great smell though.

Where can you buy it for that price? I've seen it higher (including shipping) other places. Anyone have an idea where you could find the best deal including shipping to US? Thanks

It's about $ 13,50 in our shop, but shipping is another $ 18 for parcels upto 2 kilograms.

There aren't any US vendors for it?

The KK I have has been grated into a bowl. While a fine soap, I find the rose scent too strong for my preference. Hence, it gets little use.
