I'm thinking of buying 15-20 bath soaps from an artisane.

Which artisane is your favourite, when it comes to bath soaps ?

The only bath soap we use is Martin de Candre.

Mike makes - or at least used to make - some very nice bathing soaps alongside his shaving soaps. He seems to be permanently out of stock though  Sad

I am not sure if you know that already Claus, but Pannacrema makes some bath soaps. When I order directly from them, they use to send me a couple of bath soaps samples. They are very nice and the scents are manly. If I were you, I would send them an email asking if I could buy a few.

Mike's, mystic waters, and soap commander all have great bath-bar offerings.

I agree with the choices. I do beg a new term for small soapmakers. 'Artisane' makes me think of vendor stalls at RENNFAIRES with pewter mermaid drinking goblets and bespoke chainmail. The word causes resistance to buying, less they commit some amateur folly. These folks are just as talented as the big oufits. Just call them  soapmakers.[Image: HLfSeou.jpg]

Many good recommendations above.  I have used and can recommend Mikes, Martin de Candre (olive oil), Mystic Water, Queen Charlotte and Saponificio Varesino.
Unfortunately, there are also others that cannot be recommended but that is something that we just have to deal with.
Mikes, MdC and Saponificio Varesino are the most moisturizing but the olive oil MdC's are not currently available (at least not the fougere that I favor) and Mikes has become rather difficult to get of late.
As you no doubt know, the scents between the "brands" vary widely and that adds to the pleasure.
Happy hunting.

Moi aussi -and- ぼく も。  But — having sampled broadly from the “a lot” of her offerings — we have embraced the Mystic Water Goat Milk soap as, quite simply, the best hand/face/bath soap that we ever have used, and as long as Michelle makes and sells it, we have no incentive ever to try anything else.   And, as in the realm of shaving soap, we also enjoy Haslinger Schafmilch (as well as several versions of Mystic Water shaving soaps), hope springs eternal that, as the superb Mystic Water Goat Milk “Facial” soap (bath soap) proves that Michelle surely knows how to make a great milk-enhanced soap, some day soon she will draw upon her adopted Sardinian heritage and bring out a shave soap enhanced with il latte di bufala, the essential ingredient of high-end mozzarella.  (yum.)
