So I gave in and brought this Joe Edson 6/8 Custom Straight. It arrived today after a long time with customs. Looking forward to shaving with it.

Joe does really good work, I don't own one but have admired it for a long time.

I believe some older razors had a longer tail with a curl referred to as 'monkey tails' and highly collectable.

You picked a beauty. I love mine. I have very large hands, and the razor is a joy to hold and to shave with. Congratulations.

Thanks Richard, I have noticed how comfy it is when you hold it, the long tail and jimps feel really good Smile

Ted, thanks, Alistair is a true gent and makes fantastic strops. He has a very nice new website which explains the different materials he uses which is good and also makes a starter strop which is a little cheaper than his other offerings.

Any pictures of yours?
