Congratulations on scoring a Paladin.  The Paladin butterscotch is unique.  Thanks for the comparison picture - it's quite useful to give one perspective.

Here's a thread on the M8 that inspired the El Dorado.

The El Dorado is a wonderful homage to the M8. The curves on these brushes are spot on in terms of adding to their elegance.

Here is my Winston fan in jade that arrived yesterday with the Duke 3 for comparison. They are about the same size, with the Winston being slightly larger.

We will see how the knot performs, but the handle is exceptional.

Beautiful brushes gentlemen. Personally, I think Paladins are the best on the market. Outstanding craftsmanship

Received the El Dorado in Lemon Drop and the Tut in Cobalt yesterday... wow. Both feel fantastic in hand, great job Ken! Below are a couple of pictures of the Lemon Drop crew and the Cobalt Tut:

My tortoise El Dorado arrived today. Another beautiful brush by Ken and a welcome addition to the den.

Thanks for the comparison shot Manning.  I find pictures like this quite useful. I didn't realize, for example, that Ken's new Winston was so similar in size to a Duke 3.

My tortoise beehive arrived yesterday.  I'll try to get a pic up later today.

Two things really impressed me:  The feel of this handle is incredible!  It really has some heft to it!  It feels substantial, it has gravitas!

Second, the smell of this knot is great!  I can tell that Ken and company went to a lot of trouble to de-funkify these knots before they were shipped. Without a doubt the best smelling brand new knot I've ever experienced.

I did a test/break-in lather yesterday, this one is ready to go.  I'll be using it for my next shave.

FYI, 28 mm and 30 mm derivatives of the Winston are also in the works, but they aren't proportionally scaled (like, e.g., the 28 mm Chief, PK-47, Falstaff, Lotus, and El Dorado). Instead, we just added 2 mm in overall girth to the 28 (relative to the 26) and 4 mm to the 30. Since the three different sizes are somewhat distinctive designs, we've given them somewhat different names. The 28 mm version will be the Churchill and the 30 mm version the WCXL. But they'll still be collectively filterable on our site.

Here are the pics I promised.  The pic of the back shows the buzzing bee, but you have to look to see it...

No problem, I too find them helpful.  To be clear though the Winston is a bit wider in diameter than the Duke 3.  I would say it is somewhere between the Duke 3 and a Chubby 2.  I am given to understand it is similar to a Stubby 1, but I have never owned one of those, so I cannot say for sure.  However, I do really like the Winston handle, it does meet a very nice spot between the Duke 3 and Chubby 2.  You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the Paladin handles.

The knot in mine is also very nice.  I would say the closest I have tried is recent Simpson Manchurian, but the Winston has a little softer tips, more flow, and stiffer individual hairs.  Its is quite a nice combination.

Looking at the picture, that seems like a good description of the size.  It sounds like yours has a very nice knot.

I was surprised with the weight of my brush as well. It felt heavier than I was expecting, and indeed substantial. I wonder if its Ken's tortoise stock, or the brush design themselves.
