ATT impresses me not only because it makes quality products, built to last, but also because they rarely screw things up. We know that's not easy to do in the industry.

I received mine and it is a very nice razor.  The handle is not bad, but I prefer handles that are a bit beefier.  I will be using mine with either a Triad 100mm Aristocrat or one of my UFO Goliath handles.

Beautiful razor...love the way it shaves.  I still love my Cobras, but this razor squishes the Mongoose.

It's a fantastic razor. It has moved my Mongoose back in the rotation. Congrats.

For me it's a good razor, prefer it above the mongoose and cobra's but still on number one is my Feather DX.

I will shave today with it. Had two shaves before but not perfect shaves. Close but very easy to have small weepers. Dont know why, i am having excellent shaves from ATT S1, Blackbird and Oneblade.

I think i used too shallow angle.

Will test with a steeper one.

Love mine! I pair it with the Kai Titan Mild and get a wonderful BBS shave. So far no cuts, weapers, etc. Looking in the mirror this morning I had less stubble than I do with my Wolfman.

My current plan is to use it 7 days straight to see how comfortable it stays as a DD plus to see if the blade is still comfortable for that long. So far day 3 and no worries!

Blade selection seems to have a bigger impact with this razor than our other models. Many customers have shared with me that the Feather Super Pro makes the SE more aggressive, the Feather Pro a bit milder than the Super and the KAI Titan Mild close to the R1. The KAI Titan Mild is the blade I use. Hopefully sharing these customer experiences is helpful.

Very interesting.  If I get one I might get one of those SE blade samplers from Try a Blade and see how it goes.  Stan do you have any information on the folks that are complaining about the blades not being removed easily from the razor? Seems like I might have seen a few people needing to use toothpicks?  Not sure what thats about.

I've been shaving with my Above the Tie SE1 fairly regularly since I got it about a month ago, using only Kai Captain Titan Mild blades so far, but I will probably try the Feather Professional blades in the future as well. As to difficulty removing the blade from the razor head, I had experienced that, but I have noticed that it is much easier removing the blade after my razor has had time to dry.

May I add that in every way I am completely satisfied with this razor (thank you, Stan, and also for your advice!).

+1 For me it is just getting in the habit of changing the blade before shaving rather than after a shave. It is tough to break the surface tension of the waters attraction to the razor.

I strictly use the Kai Titan Milds. I've tried others in a number of Feather razors I have owned but find the Kai's work best for me. Just an overall more comfortable shave. I can see how the Feathers can make this more aggressive.

Just completed my 6th day in a row with the SE1 and the same Kai Titan Mild blade. So far no issues and I can easily see this being a DD. Had one bad experience due to a soap and no fault of the razor. On that note I will say to be sure and use a good soap with plenty of slickness, glide, and protection. If not, the razor will definitely let you know it's there.

Overall I think it's a fantastic razor! You did good Stan. Thank you for bringing it to life and in the hands of all us wet shavers!  Thumbsup

I just completed 7 shaves with a KAI Titan Mild and feel that it could have gone another or two. To complete my blade evaluation, the Feather Pro Super is next. If I thought the Feather Pro was tuggy and harsh, I guess I'll have to be real careful with the Super. Unless YMMV surprises me with the Super, I expect the Titan Mild will be my blade of choice for the SE1.

Agree, it's a nicely executed razor, Stan. Now, add a groove or some way to make blade changing easier with the tighter fitting Feather blades and the SE1 should have a permanent place in your lineup.
