They are excellent. The only problem I've ever had with them is the tops of the tubes easily snap off so I've "decanted" several into old Truefitt & Hill tubs that I've removed the original labeling from. But an excellent cream that performs better than most and as good as the best. With an exception or two.

The idea of the price is:
$1 per ounce.
That's like getting a jar of T&H for $6.70 with free shipping (normally $30 plus shipping!!)
Coate's perform better than T&H too. It is a vintage Creighton's formula that has even more slickness and cushion than current formulae, IME. And they are everyday scents like Trumper's shave scents (non-Eucris/non-GFT scent).
One warning: the Almond and Sandalwood are virtually scentless at this point (...this is coming from someone who has always said new AdP is scented and I EASILY and immediately detect the spruce scent in Brutalt Bra Norwegian Wood that no one else seems to smell, these are just two examples just saying I have a sensitive nose). If you are looking for scent, you will need to go with the other scents: lime, rose, lavender, and tea tree.

Unfortunately I am a soap guy and even when I have amazing creams on hand I will pass them right up for a mediocre (by my standard) soap. Snag these while you can boys! They might be identical ingredient wise and they certainly are both great but put an open tub of Coates (see my previous post) next to an open tub of Trumpers and they look noticeably different.

I will warn people to be wary of the Almond - I don't know if mine was a fluke or not but the tube I bought had a slightly rancid scent to it, probably from the age of the almond oil inside.
Also, the price is awesome, but it did take me more Coates than TOBS for a good shave.
If I could actually get one or two at the $1.70 price I'd pick up a Sandalwood, but the < 10 price is $3.33.

Hmmm... What's wrong with $3.33 per 50mL tube? That's like getting a 150mL TOBS tub for $9.99. And Coates blows TOBS out of the water for most people. Not to mention, shipping is only a dollar!
Btw, if I can find it (I just moved again), and you want it, I will send you my Sandalwood tube(s) for free. PM me if you are interested. I probably have 4-5 of them.
My favorites are the Tea Tree, Lavender, Rose, and Lime. Was not a fan of Almond or Sandalwood.

Mike, I have looked all around and really can't find a Sandalwood. Please PM me your PayPal email address and I'll send you the funds so you can purchase the tube and shipping from coatescreams.com directly. I'd rather be true to my word than keep a few dollars.
The only one Sandalwood I have is half gone already. I really thought I still had 3-5 fresh ones... I'm sure I'll find them in a month.

To show you the caliber of gentlemen we have here at the Nook, shortly after I wrote this I heard from Bob (Coyote). He kindly offered to send me some Coate's to try -- not just one kind, as it turned out, but three! I've had a thing for lavender lately, so I made that the first one I tried. I thought it was a very good quality cream. The scent was a nice level: present, not too strong, not too subtle. I bowl-lathered it with my Kelley Quan synth brush (which I like to use with creams) and the quality of the lather was also quite good. Nice shave with an EJ DE89, finished with Thayer's unscented and Lúcido. Many thanks again, Bob, and I look forward to trying the other two varieties.

I'm impressed.
I got mine and they are very nice. One of the best creams I've used. I'm usually a soap guy.
In a super lather these are awesome. A touch of cream smeared on the face before face lathering with a brush loaded from a hard soap and I get more lather than I even know what to do with.
