This was recently listed. It's in Russia, opening bid $400. He's calling it a 'bijoux'. The head looks shorter than others. ????????????

Merkur makes a "mustache razor" that looks pretty similar. Stunningly beautiful piece for a collector, but you'd be pretty hard-pressed to find blades that fit it.

French origin, adjective meaning small and elegant...

I image you could trim the ends of a regular DE blade, but as you suggested probably more of a collector's piece (especially at that price).

It might be a corn razor (for the feet).

Here is a picture of an old Merkur Corn razor. Notice the similarities.

No, the "Bijou" is actually the ladies razor, however Darwin did indeed make a moustache razor...

The above image is part of Connie's (aka Intrigued) Darwin family. From left to right: Mustache, Bijou, Deluxe.
(Hopefully she doesn't mind me re-posting her image here).

It's a well known razor.  Not really suitable for shaving.  If you are a collector, might make a good addition if it's in good condition and has all the bells and whistles.

I bought the same one on ebay for £40 a month or so ago, fortunately the seller was ok with me recanting on the sale as I realised it was the Bijou and required proprietary blades. Beautifully made like the Deluxe but I'm not one for trimming blades.

EBAY is a place where it pays to do your homework. IF I had such funds the vision of clearing out shelf space at Phil's clips my Magpie feathers.
