So I recently traded my OC Wolfman for a SB but the normal blades I have used in the past don't give the same shave. I have mostly used Gillette 7 o'clock Super Platinums (blacks) and Gillette Platinums. Both now seem to aggressive and while I don't get cut I do get a lot of burn with my aftershave and it isn't the most comfortable shave. I have also tried a Rapira Swedish Supersteel and a PolSilver both didn't work as well as I had hoped. Next up for me to try is a Astra SP
Sooooo I'm thinking of placing a TryABlade order to test some things. What would be some recommendations of milder yet still very smooth blades to try? I was thinking of giving MedPreps a try for sure I had 2 a while back and liked them but both got used and don't have any to test with this razor. Was also thinking about some Gillette Silver Blues. What else might not I be thinking of?

Smoothest, best blades I have are the Polsilvers - hands down the best blades I've ever used. At first I got 4 solid shaves from one blade, but now as my technique has improved, I'm getting upwards of 7 amazing shaves with each.
Gillette Silver Blues are my next choice for smoothness.
I've currently got a Personna Med Prep blade in my razor. This morning was day 4 and the alum block had nothing to say (meaning no nicks or irritation). These blades though are a little less smooth than the above - but I can't really say why - except to characterize it as a little less than "smooth." Still get good shaves with them but there's just something about the Polsilvers that makes them they awesome blade they are - for me anyway. YMMV

Tried a Voshkod yesterday ... Well two actually. First one was so bad I thought I had a defective blade so changed it half way through the first pass. Second one was just about as bad so I changed to a PolSilver and finished my shave. Not sure if I just had 2 bad blades or if a Voshkod is not for my skin

I'm going to get some GSB to try again. I have tried an AstraSP and it was only so so and I have 2 Lord Platinums someone sent me I'll give them a try

Gillette platinums are a nice smooth blade too, not quite as sharp as polsilver, voshkod, kai
I might have a vosgkod at the house I'll give it a try and I have always wanted th try Kai
1. Try the Kai.
2. WARNING: trying a KAI is like experimenting with shooting up heroin. Don't do it unless you are unafraid to get hooked.

All prices of anything must be measured against value to the purchaser. Two months ago, the incremental amount by which Starbucks raised the already high price PER CUP of brewed coffee was the same order of magnitude as the entire price of a single KAI DE blade, if the KAI blades are purchased in quantity (50 to 100 blades at at time). The Starbucks beverage comprises mostly water, and the product will be gone within an hour of purchase; the KAI blade is made of high grade stainless steel, and for most users will last close to a week of daily shaves. So which is more expensive, the coffee or the blade? One gallon of regular gasoline sells for about the price of five or six KAI DE blades, and, even in a hybrid automobile, one-sixth of a gallon of gas is unlikely to get you ten miles down the road; which is more expensive, one KAI razor blade or a very short stretch of travel on the open road?
