This is an artisanal shaving soap made in Greece, at the region of Halkidiki, near Agio Oros. It is made in very small batches. The maker makes also bath soaps. I bought it from Etsy a few days ago and received it this morning.

The soap is scented with bergamot essential oil. The scent is amazing. It's natural as it should be. Very very nice. It smells sweet bergamot, I like it very much! I was looking for a nice bergamot scented soap and this was a nice surprise to me.

The ingredients of the soap are very nice. Some of these are the following: tallow, shea butter, cocoa butter and tussah silk. Seeing these ingredients you can imagine how good the soap could be.

The packaging is simple, but very nice. The soap is hard like Meissner Tremonia. The price is excellent. It cost me only 5 euros, before shipping. For an artisanal tallow soap, with very good ingredients, the price is the best I know. It comes in refill form only for now, but soon nice bowls will be available. I put mine in a nice ceramic bowl.

I was about to do a test lather, to see how easy is to make lather with it, but I couldn't resist and did a shave. It lathers easily, just a few swirls on the surface of the soap, a few drops of warm water and the lather explodes. As you can see, the lather is excellent. So was the shave. I am impressed with the performance of this inexpensive, but quality soap. I used my Semogue OC 2Band and the Mongoose loaded with a Feather Professional, which admittedly is an aggressive razor- blade combination.

The blade was gliding easily and the protection during the shave was excellent. These terms matter to me when I use an aggressive razor. Also, the post shave feeling was like using some of the well-known tallow soaps. I detect no difference from them, to be honest. The properties of the soap are some of the best. As after shave I used the Myrsol Agua de Limon to maximize the enjoyment.

Overall, as I said above, the shave was excellent! Νo irritation, no problem at all. It is a fantastic soap at an excellent price. A friend recommended it to me and I am very glad I finally tried it. I strongly recommend it to everyone.

Wow.  That lather looks great.  I, too, love bergamot.  Great find, and thanks for sharing it with us.

I bought the last one. That's why. I'm sure it will be back in stock again soon.

Last time I heard from the maker told me that soon the soap will be back in stock. Two months later, it's still out of stock. Too bad, it was a nice product. Maybe she just stopped making shaving soaps.

haha!

Jeff, it's a nice soap. I've used it quite a few times so far. It is considered the best greek artisan soap, but the competition is not stiff anyway.

I just ordered two of them, one with the beautiful plastic container and one in refill form.

The scents are the "Mastic- Lavender" and the "Lavender, Spearmint & Palmarosa blend".

It's a great performing soap at an excellent price. I am very satisfied with the one I've already tried. In my honest opinion, it's the best greek artisan soap.

Is it as good as Faena's soaps?

A lot better, Jeff.

Faena has three soap versions, vegan, with lanolin and tallow. The latter is their best. Smooth Operator performs a lot better overall.

They don't have a website but a page on Etsy where they sell shaving and hand soaps once they're available. They make them in very small batches.
