Initially I didn't like it but this has slowly grown on me. Smooth and subtle.

Now you're a bit hyperbolic.

You both guys, Jagdeep and Claus, know very well the price of these so I don't know what Jagdeep's question was about...

I have no problem paying hundreds of dollars for razors, I've done that quite a few times, but yes, I think it's a joke to ask me that amount of money for an overpriced EDC. Fortunately, it was a gift.

They're more expensive than any designer fragrance, with a few exceptions, with actual longevity that are not EDC. You pay for the name and the history of the brand.
They have the same longevity with some of my aftershaves, two hours maximum.

I don't know Nikos what you interpreted. My intention behind asking the price was to understand the prices they sell at in Europe, elsewhere and in India.

Having said that, I got mine for 60 $ for 100ml ADP Colonia Intessa.

I was just joking, Nikos.

Fragrance prices are like so many other things in life: Not necessarily reflecting the quality of what you pay for.

With that said, if you look around you can get ADP at decent prices, comparable to Dior/Chanel. Still a high price, yet not crazy like what you for instance pay for a Roja Dove perfume.

For instance I own 6 ADP in the large 180 ml version and paid in the region of $160-170 for each. Still expensive but they are now more than 6 years old and I still enjoy them highly whenever I wear them.

I got my other 6 ADP 100 ml fragrances for $100-120 a piece, which is Chanel/Dior designer price. Still expensive.

Regarding longevity of a fragrance, you never pay for that. You may have it sometimes in a fragrance, but if you do your research first, you will know that the molecule structure of all citrus based fragrances are such, that they have almost ZERO chance of staying with you for more than 5-6 hours, unless they are ISO-E super enhanced, and ADP is all about classic natural fragrances and not so much artificial ISO-E super. So their citrus based fragrances are not long lasting.
But try their leather/Oud based fragrances and you get Super longevity in the 12-16 hours range.

It’s all about doing your research, before you condemn a whole brand.

You gents are more experienced than I am in fragrances. I usually buy 2-3 each year and do my research every time, trying many to find scents with good longevity on me. I've smelled amazing scented perfumes with pretty bad longevity, but still wanted to buy them.

Jagdeep, I didn't mean anything wrong, I was just trying to understand. I couldn't imagine that the prices differ so much! Really.

It's 145 euros, which is equal to $170 for the large bottle. That's expensive. And the longevity/ sillage is pretty bad. Almost non existent.

Retail stores never have discounts on these. For example, you can buy TF@40% off a few times during a year, but at the same time AdP and Pen's are never on discount. TF are much better than both. It's just the brand name and the history of the brand, like I said.

In my view Tom Ford is a great fragrance brand, just like ADP is.

But if you took notice of what I said about citrus based fragrances and citrus molecules, and then sample Tom Ford Neroli Portofino and Neroli Portifino Forte, you get the exact same problems. Longevity s*ucks. Citrus molecules don’t last. They evaporate too fast into the air.

TF Neroli Portofino smells excellent.
But its longevity is very poor.
Sort of like ADP Colonia.
4-5 hours and it’s gone. Even with 10-12 sprays.

Tom Ford is a brand more known for its thicker more heavy scented fragrances with leather, Oud and tobacco.

If you compare ADP Colonia Leather Intensa and TF Tuscan Leather, you compare apples to apples. Both are fantastic thick great long lasting fragrances. I own both. Both give me 12-16 hours solid longevity.

Comparing citrus based ADP fragrances to TF Oud/Leather/Tobacco fragrances is like comparing apples to oranges and simply makes no sense.
