Creed Neroli Sauvage

Have to use half a bottle to get staying power. Expensive after shave. Smells ok. [Image: 5820b71abec3440aaf35e4153dc99052.jpg]

I love this fragrance but giving its nature of being a creed and a citrus fragrance, I never bought this expecting it to a long lasting fragrance. I use mine once in a while before bed time. Great fresh classy scent. But gone in 4-5 hours.
I sometimes spray the sheets with it to get it to last longer.

Earlier this week I purchased a bottle of Fine American Blend Aftershave splash from Fendrihan. This is my first purchase of a Fine product. I bought this particular aftershave because of the scent and the menthol content and I’m not disappointed. Also, the scent seems to linger on my skin longer than most aftershaves. This splash will have a permanent place in my rotation.

“The choice of a perfume can only rest on the competence acquired by education of olfactive taste, by intelligent curiosity and by a desire to understand the WHY and the HOW of perfume. Instead, the public is given inexactitudes and banalities.” - Edmond Roudnitska (creator of Eau Sauvage)

Cuba Gold, not a lot of depth to it but a nice jasmine for the dirt cheap price.

Amouage Ciel PH

Great summer fragrance that has a somewhat similar vibe to Bond No.9 Riverside Drive, but is clearly its own fragrance.

Very very nice fragrance.

I’m not that much into Creed fragrances to be honest.

I own 13 fragrances from Creed. All the old 120 ml versions. Also have owned BDP, orange spice (which YSL cloned later with Kouros) and Royal Windsor.

VIW
Aventus
MI
GIT
Himalaya
ROYAL OUD
OV
OS
NEROLI SAU
SMW
RW
EROLFA
Tabarome Millesime

I may buy Windsor and Viking at some stage but not in a rush to do so.

My advice was a personal advice to Richard, so can’t really share it here.

But I can reveal, that while I really love Original Santal and still have 90% left in my 120 ml bottle, for the life of me I can’t see why one would not get Mont Blanc Individualle and live happily ever after. You can get 12 bottles of the Mont Blanc for one bottle of the Creed.
I have worn both for years now, and my honest observation is that the Creed is a clone of the Mont Blanc. Yes a clone !

I get a bit more creamy Sandalwood in my Creed and a bit more raspberry in the Mont Blanc, but the differences are minute to my nose.

Mont Blanc Individuel is from 2003.
Creed Original Santal is from 2005.

Same goes for Creed Original Vetiver.
Released in 2004.
Mugler Cologne was released in 2001.
Creed Original Vetiver is a clone of the Mugler Cologne. Yes the Creed is perhaps more rounded, but they are 95% identical and Creed did all the cloning here.

So when people whine about clones of Creed Aventus, they should take a look at the history of Creed and stop whining.

Thx, Claus!

I do lack your profound knowledge of perfumes.
There are a few Creeds I own, which I like a lot.

I ought to have tried the Mugler, but liked Creed OV so much that I could not resist 120ml for 160EU. (Not a bad thing to live in spitting distance between two tax free regions.) Still much more pricey than Mugler, agreed.
Maybe not a wise choice, but one I do not regret, as I like this juice a lot.

BdP: I had a sample from a more recent bottling, which I loved. Prominent cedar in this sample. The bottle I bought elsewhere was different, more flowery, more barber shop. First disappointment with their bloody batch problem, later on this BdP grew on me.

Himalaya: one of my first Creeds. Claus will certainly know similar things, I thought it to be pretty unique and had to have itSmile

Royal Water: a match made in heaven with Meissner Tremonia Dark Limes, so I had to get it.

Aventus: this one fascinated me, although the scent isn’t „me“.
So I bought it.

Do I whine about copycats?

Well, I dislike cheap counterfeits and imitations in all areas of life.
Did Creed make perfumes similar to earlier and cheaper ones?
Certainly.
Are there more intelligent choices considering the price?
Certainly.
Am I guilty of some kind of snobbery?
I do think soSmile

PS: Claus, thx for your insight and contributions here!
