Well I finally got around to building myself a brush to go into rotation.  It is a teak wood with a chromed metal accent band that has been wet sanded at 3200 grit and high friction polish added and buffed.  I then applied two coats lacquer.

I set it to a 21mm black badger for some backbone.  This brush is a more classic in that it is longer like that of a barber brush.
