Alessandro of PantaRei ceramics made this brush for me based on my suggestions and a crude sketch. It illustrates a story that Buddha told to a disciple regarding the preciousness of our human life.
The handle is quite hefty requiring a manly grip. It's a 30mm Manchurian knot set quite low and exhibited some gentle scrub during the first palm lather.
This is a wonderful addition to my den and won't be put away to make room for others in the rotation. It will remain out to remind me daily of my good fortune.

Incarnating as a human is an opportunity to create good karma and potential enlightenment. It is a rare gift compared to a sea turtle who may only surface once in 100 years and poke it's head through a ring floating on the surface. Alessandro sources the hair and then makes the knots for each brush. At least that is the way I understand the process from our communications. He does various knots from badger, horse, squirrel....
Squirrel?? This is the first time I've heard of that. Wow. I didn't think that was possible.

I think he mixes it with other hairs...

Thanks. The painting is fired ceramic so it is durable. Of course it's a ceramic handle so care must be taken to avoid drops or hard contact. Does look good in the bathroom!
