I like to switch between going clean shaven, wearing a goatee, or a full beard.  Even with a full beard I like to keep it trimmed, but I have always used cheap beard trimmers and they don't last at all.

I have looked online and the Braun 5090 looks like a good quality beard trimmer, but I"m sure there are other options out there.

What do you guys recommend?

I have and like a Remington HC5810 - bought it primarily for trimming my head, but works just as well on my beard.

I suppose it depends on how long you keep the beard. I always have a goatee, and I keep it trimmed with a conair I-stubble trimmer. I also have a Braun crazr that'll allow for longer lengths - I often use it to taper the sides of my hair on my head. Here's an article describing both (hope it's ok to link to it here):

I've had a goatee for years and have always had trouble finding a decent one. I finally found this one last year and love it:

I noticed that my haircutter uses Wahl products, as do lots of professionals - that's what led me to seek this one out.

EDIT: Sorry, just noticed this thread is like 2 months old... Oh well!

When I have a beard, I have always just trimmed it the old fashioned way, with these.
