I see several SOTD photos that look like they were shot with a lightbox. Would anyone who uses one care to recommend one, or a good DIY setup?

I have one.

I bought one after using a DIY one for years.

To make one you only need two desk lamps, a cardboard box or a few pieces of stiff card stock, a backdrop, and an old T-shirt or a bit of white fabric to use as a diffuser on each side by your light sources.

The one I bought is great. A bit large.
It folds flat though which my homemade box did not.

I use a light-box on occasion and its similar to the home constructed one in the video Todd posted. They can be quite crude yet still very effective.

I prefer natural light, although during winter months, it's dark when I leave for work in the morning and dark when I return, and I'll use a light box. Occasionally I'll use it when I want to add a little variety to my SOTD photos, or when I want a photo of an item to post on B/S/T. Any of the above products will do the job.

Cardboard and a white shower curtain if you want to do a DIY. Look up making a light box and plans will pop up.

I've got one similar to this and like it a lot.  Everything packs away nice and compact.
