I hear these things can be quite deadly, but couldn't resist after finding a brass MMOC in excellent condition.  The mechanics are all solid.  I'm going to give it a little Brasso then give it a go!
Pray for me!!   Angel

The reports of aggressiveness are greatly exaggerated. It's technique that matters...enjoy.

What blades do you plan on using in that...thing...

=P

I haven't used the open comb, yet, but I have a regular micromatic. The first time I tried it I used a Treet blue carbon blade and almost threw away the razor right after. I thought I peeled a layer of skin off! I later tried again with a gem PTFE, MUCH better!

Good luck!

Vigilantesd, no idea.  I have a buddy who is sending me some blades.  I think they may be PTFEs?  lol.  I'll report back after its first use…. if the blood loss is not too great.  lol.

Haha I'm sure he is sending decent blades for you to try it with, unless you have some unsettled beef from time ago =P

I'm sure the razor will be just fine, but if you do need emergency transportation, I'm not too far! Haha

" I polished up the handle so carefully, that now I am the ruler of the Queen's Navy". Real deep water sailors use Neverdull. I had to transport a recruit from Government Island, Alameda to the NAS Hospital after he managed to spill Brasso in his eyes to get out of the service.

Kav - 18 years of Naval service here (and counting) and all I've seen used was Brasso.  I'll have to look up Neverdull.

Blades are on the way my friend. They are the GEM Personna PTFE coated blades. In my limited experience with GEMs, the best blades for such razors.

Nice Gilbert & Sullivan reference, KAV. Fun stuff to enjoy, especially the D'Oyly Carte presentations, and to perform in.

I love my MMOC.  I think the "deadly" thing is a bit exaggerated.  A little care and a light touch will reward you with some GREAT shaves

Neverdull comes in a coiled roll resembling insulation batting saturated with a polishing compound. You can tear off a piece and use until black. I like avoiding the mess of rags and it wont cake or get runny like Brasso ( or cause skin reactions with some). It really fits in oddball places like razor teeth rags wont. I will be giving a white glove inspection of your razor. One blemish and it's 2 hours high porting a M1 Garand on the grinder and reporting to Mr Bell you shortcomings every lap.

Roger, Primo and I are Savoyards too. D'Oyly Cart is a given, with the Welsh National Opera a close second. I just perchance pirated the thread. Or is it Penzance?
