I just made the pleasant discovery this week with WSP, and in particular their Matterhorn and Blackbeard shave soap. I'm seriously looking into getting the full puck of the Matterhorn, (the wife loves it), but noticed on their website they have two formulas. Formula T which is made with tallow and shea, and their Rustic line which is vegan (the sample I got).
Anyone on here have experience with both formulas and notice anything different between the two, besides the couple dollar difference?

Hey there, I have both formulas. Currently I have Citrus Blast in the normal formula, and Gaelic Tweed and Matterhorn in the Tallow formula. I'll be honest, I feel like the tallow formula soaps, for me, have a slightly more rich, thick, slick lather. My shaves are just a bit better with the Tallow version consistently. Along with that comes a better post shave feel. And I will tell you, scent wise, Gaelic Tweed and Matterhorn are both fantastic scents with great scent strength. Obviously Gaelic Tweed is the Green Irish Tweed Type and I believe that Matterhorn is Silver Mountain Water? Both are very fresh, very clean, masculine scents. I love both of these soaps during the summer, they both perform well.
My only complaint is the small tins these are offered in. I wish every soap maker would move away from the tin, hate the tin, despise the freaking tin! Nevertheless, these two soaps are among my favorites and again, the Tallow version does perform better for me than his regular version.

The last time I stopped by the shop I suggested they add an Aventus clone to the mix too.

I don't understand why they can't use larger containers, whether tins or jars, like so many other artisan soap makers. It's frustrating because they are excellent soaps. Can a knife be easily slid around and under the soap to remove it and transfer it to your own container?

On the plus side, the smaller tins are good for travel. We're heading to CA next weekend from AZ. It's a little too hot for transporting creams, and the WSP soaps being in smaller tins make them the logical choice for the trip.

The Mahogany is one of my favorite soaps and scents. I just started my third tin.
I'm with Coyote here, although the difference is just from great to greater. Unusual because on the whole I have a slight preference for tallow soaps. My favorite WSP scents though are Mahogany, Gaelic Tweed, and Matterhorn but they're all perfect and I also have Tobacco and Barbershop.
