Folks-

SBAD got to me...again. I now have my very first Chubby. A 2 in Best.

This is THE largest knot I've ever handled. So, I'm looking for advice to help me to success in tomorrow's shave.

And "more product" will be heeded. Any other tips or caveats?

From one Max to another. Add droplets of water as you proceed, spend a little more time lathering and get to know your CH2 Best. Might take a bit of time to break in (easier to use paint strokes at first as the hair softens slightly.). Great choice.

Grow bigger?

Joking aside, just add water slowly, and load that brush like you've never loaded before.

All-

Wow! Using the Chubby was a completely new experience for me. I'm still thinking through "What Happened?"

I used MORE product, Oh yeah... a LOT more product. The choice of product was Mike's Natural in Barbershop. Part of the reason was the generous size of the tin container. That made it easy to load the brush.

I always shave the top of my head. The Chubby was just AWESOME at that.

As for maneuvering it around my face...well, let's just say that some practice is needed.

The best thing...my SBAD feels to be in remission! Having a Chubby makes me feel as if my den in "complete."

(well, sort of) There's still a CH in 2 band...and a Thater 2 band...and a Plisson. But, for now...all is calm.

Max, congrats. It's great to hear that your initial experience with the Chubby 2 is such a positive one. Sounds like a match made in heaven. I will confess that it took me a few uses to adjust to the Chubby 2. I love the brush now. If I had to choose between a CH2 Best and 2-band Super, I'd take the Best. In my little Chubby 2 family, these two versions are the most different from one another, though. So if you have the itch for another one, the 2-band is a great choice.

But how long until it arrives? And once it does arrive will you need to go to the hospital after 4 hours or not?

I definitely enjoy looking at all the Chubby brushes. It's going to be one of the few brushes that I'm going to purchase more than one from the same series from of Simpson brushes. I do agree that the Simpson Chubby 2 in 2-band is quite nice! Heck, it's the only 2-band brush that survived the cut from my 2-band collection! It just hit all the right areas for me! Biggrin

I needed to share a couple pix. Here is the Chubby 2 in Best beside a Duke 2 in Best.

This morning I used a Duke 3 two band. It sure felt small. Tomorrow - back to the Chubby.

Max, a great pair of brushes that are mainstays in many a den.

Andrew, your pics created a considerable amount of Chubby envy throughout TSN.
