I enjoy TSN for many reasons. For historical sake and trivia I have a few questions:
  • When was TSN's inaugural date?
  • Who were the initial dozen members?
  • Who were the initial moderators?
Thanks!

The list of members can be sorted by joining dates, which would answer both of your questions. The very first Member, Mod and Admin was/is Phil, aka BullGoose. I cannot recall all the changes there has been in the ModTeam since I joined the Nook in April 2012, but Mods sometimes leave the ModTeam for good reasons and new Mods are appointed from the community.

I can recognize almost half of these original dozen members.

The percentage of the original members whom are still active on the 'nook is remarkable high. I suspect the 'nook opened for business on 25th February 2012, seeing as how it was only Phil who signed up on 3rd January.

Yes, the site did not go live until February 24th and was opened to the public on February 25th, 2012.

A big plus one.

It's hard to believe that the Shavenook has been around over four years.

I recall the excitement of a Grad Student in Brooklyn launching Mike's Naturals, Shave-a-buck introducing the Cadet OC razor and Hans back in the day when he used the gunmetal  Parker 22R.  Gillette 7 o'clock Suoer Platinum (blue box) from Russia were all the rage.  Experienced wet shavers were still pining for Super Iridium blades and mourning the reformulations of beloved shave soaps into fragrant blocks of uselessness.

Myself, I was very big into Tabac and jumped on the Mike's Natural bandwagon and had realized that there were better options than my Frank Shave silvertip brush.

A trivia question, was the site that preceded this, called simplyshave.com?

Yes -TSN was a spinoff of Simplyshaving.com. The forum software for simply shaving was obsolete and we wanted to switch to a more stable platform.

I joined TSN on February 26, 2012 and became a moderator two weeks later, until I stepped down a few months back.  Still the best shave forum as for as I'm concerned.
