Gents--

My AD is slowing down but since Phil recently got the Savonnerie de Bon Berger tub soap, I decided it would be one of my few soap purchases this year.  The SdV menthe stick is one of my favorites.  I'm thinking of getting another top flight soap/cream from among the following choices.  Let me know which one you'd choose, or if there's something else Bullgoose carries that I'm missing, give me a heads-up!

Savonnerie du Moulin
Saponificio Varesino (specify preferred scent/formula)
Esbjerg (preferred scent)
Czech and Speake (preferred scent) -- I have (and love) Valobra hard soap so since this is so similar it might be less of priority.

What say ye?

Have you tried phoenix and beau? I've only tried it once but their denali is a perfect summer soap. Their other offerings have received very positive reviews too. Real nice stuff

You Haven't TRIED S d M? I know you live in the People's Republic of Santa Monica, but where have you been? You can buy a stick, unscented, regular scent or Tempete.People bash the containers for, well being bashed. They are veneer thick Ashwood  just like some cheeserounds still come in. There is also a loufa in the bottom.
The idea is to help drain off moisture for optimum life. No, the milk doesn't go rancid and you will use it up long before even the possibility.  The stick and Tempete have
a more substantial ashwood container. Both of my Tempetes warped identically with use; the sides angling in slightly and the base becoming convex. No worries, the puck still comes out easily if desired. The soap has a honeycomb appearance from milling, nothing is separating or going bad again. Tempete has a lovely pepper smell that reminds me of eucalyptus and California pepper trees and rich earth-very SOCAL. Performance is simply superb. Price is a little higher than some but not outrageous. You are getting a product from a farm in France produced by a mother and son team and available only through Phil.  It is one of my MUST HAVES.

You can't go wrong with any of the soaps on your list. Scent is a personal thing, and somethings you should pick out.

agree with Richard & Kav but one point to make...Czech and Speake is not "just another Valobra soap".  They are in a class by themselves.  Personally, I'd go for the Oxford & Cambridge or SdM as Kav mentioned.

Those are all good choices. My order would be:
C&S (both!!!!!!!)
Esbjerg (grapefruit or orange vetiver)
SdM
SV (these are nice but too much finagling with the formulas is starting to get annoying... And none that I've tried are as good as the 3 above)

Thanks for the suggestions, gentlemen!  Kav, as usual your descriptive powers are considerable.  This is going to be a tough one... Undecided

I heard good things about all of those, but sadly I only have SV.

My experience with SV was very good, and I will confidently recommend it.

This. By now, I would pick any scent that they release, without thinking too much about it. I own Felce Aromatica, Dolomiti and Tundra Artica. And I honestly like all of their scents. This soap is responsible for making me see the scents of Razorock soaps seem like a joke in comparison. I didn't even knew that a puck of soap can be formulated with such complex scents.

From the SV line my favorite scent is the Flying Mango.

All others are good too, but FM is great!
