Hey does anyone know why they stopped making it? Did Palmolive go bankrupt?

Sorry if I wasn't more specific, I saw on a few other forums that the palm oil crème was supposed to be discontinued. I wasn't aware that there were other Palmolive products out there.

Not sure where you're writing from, but I can tell you that both the Palmolive stick and cream are readily available in several of the popular UK supermarkets at very low prices.

I heard this rumour a couple of years ago. It could be true but it maybe false. Palmolive can still be found on many vendors websites but it could be the last of the stock.

Palmolive is brand part of the Colgate-Palmolive company portfolio. The company is worth about $12 Billion, so if it is discontinued it would be because it was a slow seller.
That would make sense to me because every time I see it in the store its always in the bottom corner of the canned goo display.

The stuff is cheap enough that if you wanted to build a personal stock it wouldn't cost that much.

I have not seen a tube of Palmolive shave cream in any of the local stores for many years now. Are they in retail stores in BC?
Not only is it inexpensive it is also really quite good stuff. The same goes for the Palmolive shave stick.

I feel like this comes up every year or two...not sure how much weight I'd put into it for now...

I'm not sure about BC.  There was a small independent drug store in North East Edmonton that carried it up until the Alberta economy slowed down. They had an amazing shaving section for a store that size. It is to bad they shut their doors.

I just checked Fendrihan and Mark of a Gentleman have stock.

I have not tried the creams, but the sticks are great!

I should have been clearer about what I meant with local stores. I mean retailers like grocery stores, drugstores and the like. When I started shaving it was easily available locally. You did not have to order it in from the web.

The problem is not with production but rather with importation. It has an ingredient (a dye I believe) that the FDA is squeamish about. I have had two shipments confiscated and destroyed

What a pain in the A! Can I guess that they do not compensate you whatsoever?

Ouch, sorry to hear that. Seems odd since the EU is generally thought of as having stricter rules on ingredients and labelling.

The carrier doesn't but the distributor did compensate me in this instance. The funny this is the FDA would have let the shipment go through if it was for personal use. Because it was for resale though, they confiscated and destroyed. Go figure.

Palmolive shaving cream is available literally at every supermarket here...

The easiest cream to find around here, even easier than Nivea or Denim...

Seems like the North American market is too small for them to make it here and/or in compliance with FDA regulations. It is a real pity.

Indeed it is, but it gives me something to buy when in Europe! I'm at 7 sticks and 1 cream stockpiled at the moment. Total cost to me - £3.50 and €1.75 respectively.
