Wow, it appears his stock is gone. At least his non-personal stock. Great show though by having a great plan if someone does decide to purchase it. I'm very thankful to a friend for sending me some to try. Now I don't know whether to use it in honor of this or to lay off it for a while. One thing is for sure though, I will only be using my synthetic brushes with it so I can get the most out of it.

The reason he is doing it is to raise money for a children's hospital. He actually has no more soap in stock but would use his private "stash" if someone actually bought it.

RIP P.160. (shedding tears smilie goes here)

Brian, it was meant to be used. I intend to use mine no differently than I always did; ultralather and all. I'll just be sure to use my smaller brushes. When it's gone, it's gone. But I won't disgrace it by holding back on what makes it so great. With luck I'll croak before I run out of it.

There are alternatives even now. Vitos Red is close, and with an ultralather even closer, but it still isn't P.160. Valobra almond is on a par with Vitos Red. Cella is something other entirely. R.160 might be worth trying too. But for now I have my refrigerator out in the shop and many thousands of dollars worth of P.160 out there (at Joes price... it was a joke).

R160 is good. It's not quite P160 but I think Joe did well with it.

I'd say Vitos Red not AS good but Vitos Red All'Olio di Cocco is very very close. Also, if you haven't tried TFS Barbe Rosse, worth looking into it.
Agree that it MUST be used! No point in holding back, use it well Sisi

Unfortunately these soft italian soaps don't store as well as hard shaving soaps. A Kilo brick is a lot of soap. I've been tempted to buy a kilo of vitos or TFS soap. But every time I get close to pulling the trigger I realize I need another soap as much as I need another hole in the head

Well, since you put it this way... I had the damn thing in my cart for over 2 months Biggrin
I was trying to organize a small unofficial group buy but it didn't work out. It would make sense actually, not only saving on shipping but also getting a a fifth or a sixth of a brick, which is more than I'll ever need.
Maybe I should try again and see if there is any interest?

Darn. I knew Joe's cut-rate prices wouldn't last forever. Anybody interested in a group buy?

Does the actual performance of P160 live up to the legend / hype? I never have been fortunate enough to try it.

if you can't afford the P.160 $10K soap, give the R.160 a try. i haven't tried it, but i'm guessing it's very very similar.

i tried it a while back, it was good, but to be honest..i like the RazoRock classic much more then Cella and P.160. the scent on the RR Classic is the best almond/cherry/amaretto/marzipan (whatever you want to call it), scent i have ever tried or sniffed.
