Great forum!  I thought I'd share what I have found works for me after wet shaving for nine months (I'm a recovering electric shaver).  While I don't achieve BBS I do consistently achieve DFS with no cuts, bumps or razor burn.  My skin has never looked better since starting wet shaving.  I have no occasional acne (I'm middle aged and occasionally would get acne before wet shaving).

I usually shave in the morning with showering the night before.  I use cold water.  I have two cakes of Van der Hagen Glycerin shave soap melted into a Van der Hagen shave bowl (the blue/green one), Whipped Dog synthetic brush, Merkur 34C safety razor, Feather blade, bloc de Osma alum block and Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm.

1) Wet face multiple times water as get equipment ready
- put water in soap bowl
- put wetted brush in bowl to absorb water/soap
- rinse razor
2) Remove brush from bowl and set aside.  Use water in bowl (which is now slick from soap) to rinse face.
3) Load the brush by saying two "Our Father"s swirling quickly
4) Face lather in circular motion until consistency is creamy, then use "painting" strokes
5) Put a few dribbles of water on brush to keep hydrated
6) Do a WTG pass with razor
7) Repeat steps 4 & 5
8) Do a XTG pass with razor
9) Repeat steps 4 & 5
10) Do an ATG pass with razor
11) Squeeze remaining lather from brush into left hand (right hand has razor) and use cream to massage face and find which areas need touch up with razor.  Some areas need 2-3 touch up passes
12) Rinse face and brush thoroughly
13) While face is damp, rub alum block on face
14) Shake brush and razor dry
15) Rinse face to remove alum
16) While face is damp, use 2-3 drops of balm to rub vigorously on face
17) Clean up area and have a great day

On the one hand, your obvious obsession marks you out as someone who clearly belongs here.

On the other, a simple "Hi" at first meeting probably would have sufficed.

Whatever, welcome aboard.

Welcome from one former electric shaver to another!  Stupid razor heads cost almost as much as the razor to replace, but I digress...
