Picked this up at my local Thrift Store last week for $3. I believe it is a Safari, but no markings except Lamy on the pen body and on the nib, along with I think a "1".
Too small to see without magnification, which a can't get to at the moment.
Came with no convertor or cartridge. I have a Sheafer cartridge in there with Chesterfield Antique Copper I transfered using a syringe(diabetic). Cartridge is abit long and the pen does not screw down completely, but that is no biggie right now. I need to get a converter for it, but that won't happen for a while.
Still, a very nice writing pen, and for $3? Heeeyy.

Great find, @OP!
Another option is eBay. I picked up 6 Sheaffer "School pens" for $27. Tossed the 1 nib that was in bad shape (and was advertised as such in the listing), then sold my least favorite for $30 on Craigslist. But even if I had kept all 5, they're easy to use fountain pens and cartridges are still available (which I refill with a syringe from various Goulet Ink samples), and I paid a net of $5.40/each.

I would love to get a fountain pen like that for that price.

They have another model, believe it is the Logo, for $10. Did not have $10 at the time, and they only open Thursday through Saturday. Guess where I'm going Thursday?

I believe my local Staples carries Sheaffer short cartridges, which should fit this pen just fine. I have zero issues refilling. I have a few different inks I chose because I like them, and already do this with a really cheap Sheaffer pen, which is why I have the cartridges.
When I get around to placing an order with Goulet, I'll pick up a couple of converters.
Thanks, gentlemen.

I have a couple of Lamy Safari pens and really like them. Both that I have are fine nibs and I use them with bright colored inks for taking notes.
You can find the converters on Amazon for around $6 dollars.

I bought some blunt tip syringes on Amazon - 10 pack for $7.99 to fill some of the converters.
