Just picked it up this afternoon. Hasn't seen water yet. Since I now shave my head, I figure I need a bigger brush, so Chubby 3 it is. This is my first Super Badger. Can't wait to try it in the morning, Have set my alarm ½ hour earlier so I'll have lots of time with it.

I have just 1 Simpson, it's a Chubby 1 Best my son gifted me for my BD last year and it's a great brush, no issues at all.

Awesome brush.  Congratulations.  You will have to be prepared to load a lot of soap.

Haha, the old "flip it upside down and crop" photography trick.  I just sat it on my inverted scuttle.  Here's what the original picture looked like.

David, I'm looking forward to hearing glowing reports about how luxurious and outrageous your new CH3 Super is treating you!

A dozen shaves ought to do it nicely Smile

Well, based on one, it's spectacular.  It will, of course, take quite a few more to getting it running perfectly.  It's so thick, I don't think it will completely dry out by the next morning, so I probably will just use it every other day.

They sure know how to make brushes at Simpsons!

Maybe next year I'll get a Chubby 3 Manchurian Badger Moonjava.  Might be a be difficult to conceal, however.  This one just kinda blends in on the counter.  You probably understand...

Yes, most definitely. Swmbo is aware of a few wood, horn and many cream handles. Everything that comes in is one of those. Interestingly, I recently received some tacit permission to consider other colors. Swmbo stated publicly, "Shave brushes should be dark." So I'm thinking the next brush will be tortoise...

Biggrin

David, that's one gorgeous brush. I think you'll either need a larger bowl or start face lathering. I've got a Chubby 2 in super, and it is a beast. You're going to enjoy this brush for a long time, but it may take more than 1 day to dry out. I don't know that there's a brush stand big enough for that bad boy. Wink

You are indeed correct. I used it Tuesday morning, and it's still a bit damp.  Now, my den is in the basement, and we've had very humid weather the last couple days, so that may affect things.  I suspect that in the winter, when the air is quite dry, it will be ready to roll the next morning, or in 2 days at the very most.

But, not a problem.  I have a couple others in the rotation.

Expect it to take 3-4 full days to dry completely unless you place it near an open window.
I sold both my CH3 Super and CH2 Super because I prefer my 2012/2013 CH3 & CH2 in limited edition Best hair to them. Manchurian and 2-band Silvertip must be your next goals. I own 8 Manchurian/2-band Silvertip CH2/CH3 and these are just a step above in price, but honestly my CH2 Best Limited edition 2012 could be the best brush I own along with a 30 mm Thäter 2-band bulb.

Claus, you're dead-on.  It's now Friday, and the brush is still a bit damp.  I used it Tuesday morning.

Should be fine for my cherished Saturday morning shave tomorrow.  My music is being selected shortly. Will choose the lather as well, but am leaning toward my new jar of Krokos. Lots of time for hot towels before I lather up, since I don't have to go to work.

I'll go with #1.  Have switched over to my pythonic Schwarzweisskeramik.  Lots of room in that bowl!
