I own several 100 top performing soaps, but if I had to pick a soap that always gives me the best shave, I think my choice would be the I Coloniali terracotta shaving soap.

The Bo Derek of shaving soaps (yes, I'm in my 40's now )

Great presentation
Great scent
Great price
Great lather
Great slickness
Great cushion
Great protection
Great post shave feel

This is one of my few 10/10 shaving soaps. A perfect 10 - The Bo Derek of shaving soaps.

What is your best performing soap - you can only pick 1.
I have an entire list of great soaps, SDM, CRSW, B&M, MDC, LPL, Sap Var, ABC, Tab Rasa, Cas Forb, SDV, MWF, CzechSpeak, Wickham 1912, P&B, AOS TALLOW, SMN, ADP, Tabac, Meis Trem, Boellis and more, but I Coloniali just always stand out when ever I use it.
It never has given me less than a perfect BBS.

I'm a Julie Newmar kind of guy myself; and briefly meeting her once 'hello, thankyou for all the fun roles you played' and she replied with intent eye contact and that purring voice holding both hands 'oh, thankyou and what is your name'? was not disappointed.
Mitchell's Wool Fat.
I must post a precursor to the inevitable multiple choices to come.

Well, since the question is about performance the one that clearly is the standout for me (I have kept a daily shave log for 3 years except the last couple of months) is Yardley. There are quite a few in the second spot performance wise but if we make the list about a pleasure to use, since my Yardleys have little to no scent left the choice would be different.

Sadly, yes. It's like the scene in Lost Horizons when Conways's brother looked at the rapidly aging chinese girl during their escape from Shangri-La and dies in an avalanche. My Lily has that molasses rich voice and knows how to purr, something lost on the

Sudsy Soapery.

I would have said Phoenix & Beau or Mike's but this small soap company out of the St. Louis area takes top spot. Wasn't expecting much but wow.

I think that's Mary Anne, Jack....  Biggrin

For me, the top contenders are Castle Forbes, T&H UC, SdM, C&S, ABC both cream and hard soap, Boellis, and I've been trying out 10% SdBB and it is good.

If I narrowed it down, it would be between SdM, Castle Forbes, and C&S. I could do SdM from now on but I'd dearly miss the lime, lavender, and rose fragrances.

Cheers, Steve

I have only been shaving for two plus years, but my introduction to CRSWs changed what I thought was possible.

I have a med course hair and just happen to have sensitive skin.

CRSW gives me a shave that is free from weepers, redness, and/or itchiness.

post-shave feel is superb

I see some soaps I know, some I don't, and some I have, and this soap is fantastic.

I am trying to decide on Savon no 1 or Citrus, as my next soap.

My trigger finger is itching! Wink
