Thank you,

Aesthetically I'd say the S1 on the triad handle is my favourite. I searched long and hard for that handle and was very lucky to find it.

In terms of a quality shave I find it very difficult to rank them really. I really enjoy all of them. If I had to choose I'd say the Blackbird is probably the best though.

My overall favourite is the Ever Ready 1914 though. I got one that is in really great condition and modded the head myself. Managed to find the perfect sized Jurgen Hempel handle that I really liked and paired them together. It came out really nicely and it gives me quite a nice sense of achievement when I use it. It's also an incredible shaver. Probably the most efficient and aggressive razor I've used.

Haha thanks. Don't worry though. This wasn't my first attempt. I managed to partially ruin something that has survived over 100 years

Thanks for everyone's kind comments. No, no gillettes for the time being. Truth be told I've never actually used one. I have a Fatboy but it's beyond repair I think. I've spent many hours cleaning and disassembling it but I don't think it'll ever be viable to shave with.

Take a picture showing where you think the problem is. We might be able to help if you want.

I'm not sure where it is at the moment but I can describe it to you...

The TTO knob at the bottom pops in and out opening and closing the silo doors when it shouldn't (everything fully tightened)

The adjustment knob continuously spins and does not stop at the maximum setting. It's also very stiff

The adjustment setting needs calibrating after taking it apart

Serious plating loss, pitting and deep gouges. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this thing has seen battlefield action. It did have quite a bit of red sand in it.

When I received it nothing moved. It had horrendous amounts of calcium deposits built up on the inside completely jamming the mechanism. Many hours of hammering and ultra sonic cleaning later I had it in its component parts. I think corrosion has won this battle unfortunately

That sounds worst than I expected. After disassembly and inspection, there isn't much you can do. Anyways, you have a very nice collection and certainly vintage Gillettes aren't for everyone.
