Okay, I have a question regarding Valbora and Czech and Speake.  First, I know they are really the same soaps with different fragrances, so performance is the same.  I regard the performance as great, btw.  My question is more about the scents and the scent strength.  I am currently using CS O&C and it is a wonderful scent, but it is very faint. I was thinking about buying a new puck and trying to decide what to go with.  I have smelled a puck of Valbora Patchouli at Pasteur's and it smelled pretty strong.  CS 88 also smelled pretty good but I am wondering whether it will be faint when lathered,  like O&C.  What do those of you with experiencewith these soaps think regarding the scent strengths?

My experience has been the opposite of yours. I find C&S No. 88 and O&C to be fairly strong scents, and find Valobra Patchouli to be on the lighter side.

Hmmm.  Well, the only one that I've actually lathered in the O&C.  The others I have only smelled the pucks at the store.  The Patchouli smelled fairly strong, but I guess that could change when lathered.

I've only tried CS No. 88 from the ones you mentioned, but i'll add that the scent was fairly strong. Not overwhelming by any means but very noticeable when loading and shaving.

Valobra was a bit weaker scented to me strength wise than the O&C is.

I only have the C&S No 88 and find the scent fairly weak too but it seems to last longer than other soap, I could smell it's scent a few hours after the shave, it's hardly noticeable but it's there.

I agree with Richard. C&S soaps
have a stronger scent than the regular Valobra line. I'll go one step further and say that they perform better than the regular Valobra line as well.

Hope this makes sense: I found Valobra to be "light type" scents but "done strongly".
Whereas C&S I find to be right down the middle (tastefully done).

That's interesting.   Why do you say they perform better?  I thought they were the same, except for the scents.

To me, they perform similarly, but C&S has stronger scents than Valobra.

I own all 5 scented Valobra made soaps in question.
To me they perform the same.
Scents are milder in the 3 Valobra's

I'm not really sure why. Yes.. they are the same parent company...but to me the C&S pucks produce a better lather than the regular Valobra line. To make it even more confusing, I think the discontinued AOS tallow pucks (also Valobra) are even slightly better latherers than the C&S pucks. Something in the chemistry is a bit different. But all 3 are top notch.

AOS tallow > C&S >> Valobra.

Claus, thanks for resresponding. I know you have many great soaps, so I respect your opinion.  Would you say that 88 has a stronger scent than O&C?  If so, by how much?
