We are in discussions with Cyril about making a forum soap for the Shave Nook. Before we proceed further we would like to hear from our members. What sort of scent would interest you? 100g or 200g containers? Plastic or stainless steel? Please weigh in with your thoughts.

Scent might depend on the time of year it's released for me.

I am on a black pepper kick recently.

Mike's Natural Orange Cedarwood and Black Pepper and Blenheim Bouquet are both good examples of what I am thinking. Now that Sapone Di Paolo discontinued Piccante I don't know any other options for this surprisingly good scent. Black Pepper is something I wouldn't have thought works so well in fragrance combinations if I hadn't tried it.

100 gram is not an issue for me, but 200 I am in favor of.

Container is not a sticking point for me, but I am not fond of plastic for a Limited Edition or special occasion soap. I would be in favor of stainless steel.

Thumbsup

I really like LPL. This is exciting Phil.

200g stainless container and anything but gourmand gets my vote.  Great news though I love LPL! His natural scents are among the best I've experienced.

Anything LPL, I love the Traditional and the Rose de Pushkar, but please put it in the 200 gram container.

Ditto Primotenore's; If not, with all the USA bourbon and tobacco offerings we could do a eurocentric offering in  Armanac.

Interesting idea Chris. Does Armanac smell anything like cognac?

Whichever scent you choose, please  make it the new tallow based formula.

Perhaps a scent that is quintessentially French, like Guerlain's Habit Rouge?

There seems to be a lot of support for the tallow formula. If Cyril agrees, I am all for it.

Armanac is a French regional appelation of Brandy and Cognac. It's like Champagne being restricted to specific districts and drinking Cremont; another sparkling wine utiliosing limestone caves in the production. Armanac has a distinct scent. We do need to remember Cyril may not be able to procure something; much like Brutalt Bra getting the spruce.
I do hope we can find a scent untried

Very true. I just received an email from Cyril within the past hour or so and he said he is going to join the forum. Perhaps he will pop into this thread.

Tres' bien! I do hope it can be something truly unusual: Unusual not being playdough but ie gardenia, vanilla

I'd like to see a metal 200 gram offering.

Scents ideas:

1. Honeysuckle

2. Something citrus- since I don't recall a LPL scent. That would be different.

3. Lily of the Valley

4. Orange blossom- maybe hint of lavender for complexity

A Neroli scent would be great. Also, I'd lile to see it in the new tallow-based formula.

If Cyril did a rose, he could glue one of those audio greeting card chips to the lid with Edith Piaf singing la Vie en Rose.

If he could make it smell like Penhaligon's Castile, that would be awesome.  I believe the predominant note is neroli, but it's a more complex scent than that.

I will echo the support for his tallow formula -- I have really been enjoying the example I received a few weeks ago and I do feel like it is a slight improvement on his original formula.

I will remain quiet in regards to scent as I am quite flexible and enjoy a variety of scents, however I will place my vote for a "premium" type of plastic container. Granted the container for his tallow version does seem to be an improvement over some of the older ones I have (or I am remembering wrong)...so I'm good either way.

Really great news Phil! Cyril makes exceptional soaps and I am happy to hear about this potential release Biggrin

Not again a rose scented soap, please. We have already seen that. It's time for something new.

How about a mix of neroli, jasmine and violet?
