Seems brushes with these characteristics are showing up from all manufacturers these days. Some view them as defective and others as divine. Personally I really enjoy using brushes with them.

I'll politely differ on the glass noodles. My favorite thing ever with them was a cold Vietnamese dish with pork and shredded carrot.

One suspects that you are thinking of しらたき (sirataki: shredded konnyaku, derived from yams) rather that 春雨 (harusame “spring rain”: made from rice flour).

Is there a consensus on whether this is a result of "over-treating" the hair or a natural phenomenon?

Those tips are quite gelly.

Most definitely a gel-tip. Congrats. They require a bit more care but are fantastic knots.

I wasn't even thinking, never learning the two names. My japanese nieghbor just gifted me fifteen pounds of rice and seaweed for sushi making and shared they are returning home next month after retiring Sad

Gel tips are created by treating hair, they do not occur naturally. But they feel great!

Nieghbor kid gells his hair colored with jello. I'll take my badgers straight up, no chaser.
