I just got in half an hour ago from a 12-hour day of super-busy, somewhat complex, mixed-up stuff. Whew. Hadn't had a day like this in years. I'm used to a much more sedate pace.

Anyway, the heck with supper, I needed to decompress. The answer, needless to say, was to go to my den, put on some Miles Davis, enjoy a few hot towels, and shave. Slowly, gently, and in a most inefficient manner. (I'm sick of being efficient!) Meissner unscented shaving cream, followed by witch hazel, and my top AF—Floris.

Ahhhhh. Feeling so much better. There's magic in a shave when you do it right.

Anyone else take the treatment—a therapeutic shave after a really hectic day?

Definitely the best part of being an evening shaver is the relaxation factor. Get your feet up DavidSmile

A good workout, followed by a leisurely quality shave, then a glass of red wine.  Fantastic way to end a day.

You know, this is probably the first time I've shaved in the evening in decades.  I get up quite early and shave before I go to work.

Now that sounds like a good evening. The relaxation factor is one of the main reasons I got into this. It is therapy.

I do the same. Use shaving as meditation and tranquility, preferably in the afternoon or early evening. I hate morning shaves. I'm a night person.

Same here. Shaving in the evening has an additional benefit for me - my SWMBO appreciates a cleanly shaven me  with a new scent every night Cool

I use it to relax and meditate before I start work.  Sometimes I feel the work stress starting to creep in and then I tell myself that it's my time and the work and office stress can wait until I get there.  God knows that with the smart phones and the rest of the technology they can get me 24/7.

Sometimes you just need to switch off, enjoy the hot shower and then listen to the sounds of shaving, water running from the tap, the brush handle knocking the side of the scuttle and the blade mowing down the whiskers.

I can dig it. I am a morning shaver, but this thread may inspire me to seek out the evening shave on occasion. A little jazz. Therapeutic decompression. A glass of wine followed by a little fragrance (lavender for me) to fall asleep with aromatherapy. It's like a mini vacation. Y'all are doing it well!

I take an evening shave during the workweek. This practice bagan in order to save time. Idk about you, but I just don't have an extra half hour in the early morn. Saturday morning is my lone daylight shave. My face and I have really grown to enjoy our evening mirror time. It's quiet and the family knows to give me space. The best benefit though, is that for those 30 minutes my chronic pain disappears. Makes me wish my beard was heavy enough to shave twice a day.

One is aware that this is a shaving board, but.

Fisherman, Strawberry, & Devil Crab (from the Porgy & Bess album) on the sound system, a full glass of Oltrepo Pavese Barbera in hand, and ... wait, do I really need to shave right now?

Night shaver here as well and I do enjoy cologne and aftershave at night. I need to start on my hot towels again , looks like I'll be purchasing a towel warmer and scuttle soon.

I like relaxing after work with a good shower and shave but on the weekends it's a mid afternoon shave then completing the day with a few good cocktails.

Am a banker and my work requires daily shave. Am not sure what kind of growth will be there next day morning after an evening or night shave. But the idea looks cool. Will save me precious 15 mins in the morning.

I'm always relatively smooth next morning.
