I scored this razor on Ebay about a week ago. After many bids, someone tried to outbid me 4 seconds before the end of the auction, I was there and finally won it. I always liked the idea of having a Rolls Razor. I had found one in bad condition a year ago at an antique store here in Greece, but I didn't buy it. Since then, I wad searching for one that looks or is unused. This set looks to be unused, even the blade has its wrapping. The packaging says it's the Viscount model but clearly it's not. The Viscount is different and its case from a different material, it's aluminum made. What matters to me is the condition of the Rolls Razor, which is excellent. I don't think I will ever use it, but it's a piece of shaving history I liked to have in my collection. It's innovative and I like its design. It reminds me of the Ancient Greek designs and sculptures.

It was probably a Christmas present for someone.

Sorry for the shadows, it's another shiny autumn day in Athens.

Very nice - looks much like mine, which was just used to shave for the first time by me anyway.  I ran the blade (mine is from 1935, there's a date code on the blade's spline) on the hone and the strop, and went at it.  It has an odd handle angle and because of the frame around the blade some close work was iffy, but not bad at all.
