I hope and pray the upcoming hurricane spares all of our east coast friends. Looks like it is going to touch a lot of folks.

My in laws were vacationing at Myrtle Beach but we're made to evacuate. Their trying to get as many people out of its path as possible. Thankfully due to the mountains were just supposed to get some rain off of it here in Roanoke. Hope everyone stays safe!

Charleston was essentially shut down yesterday.  They reversed the interstate inbound lanes for evacuation.

My wife and I went out last night for some basics in Charleston and it was like driving though a ghost town. Streets were empty, very strange. Weather is still clear, but many are preparing for the worst. We're just going to hang out at home and ride it out. I ask her if she wanted to go for a picnic on the beach Saturday morning ... she declined.   Tongue

It is going to be very bad for people living on the east coast Florida to North Carolina. First time a hurricane is travelling on this path since the 1950s.

Luckily, we were spared in Miami.  However, others further north in Florida and up through the Atlantic states are facing a serious hit from a category 3 or 4.   I hope everyone is well and gets through this safely

Stay safe folks!

Frankly I was hoping we'd catch at least some of it, the outer fringes only. We need the water. We don't need 15" of rain, that would be a disaster, but we could definitely use a few inches over the course of a day or so.

Just went out for a quick cigar; I have to say WOW. It's only the beginning for Charleston and I'm impressed. Will have to check things out in the morning.

Hope everyone in the path of Matthew is safe and dry; it's swamping us in NC as I type this! Lots of power outage and flooding in my area and from what I just heard there is a curfew in place until tomorrow morning at 8am.
