Just received my Timeless last week and have used by GSB's and Polsilvers in it...

But....

I find that these blades do not perform as well in this particular razor.  For some reason, I get much better results with Feather blades in the Timeless (which do not work that well in my other DE razors).

Which blades do you prefer with the Timeless??  Have others had similar experience?

I have noticed exactly what you are talking about and it took me by surprise. Voskhod blades are typically decent for me but I found them quite bad in the Timeless. GSB's surprised me because they were NOT outstanding in this razor...they were still good but not excellent, and this is the first razor that I encountered that brought out the "worst" in GSB's. Feathers worked very well for me in the Timeless, but also Super Iridiums were very smooth. Other blades that worked well for me include Gillette green (super stainless), Astra SP, and Perma Sharps. I don't recall trying others.

Polsilver worked great on my face but my Adam apple area was getting a little red, I'm going to try it again with the Polsilver but shave up the in that area vs down. Gillette yellows have worked great with this razor.

Thanks everyone glad to know I'm not going crazy!! I'll try a few blades mentioned here and stick with Feather for now.

BTW I really like this razor. Matt & staff have hit a home run.

I've had my Timeless Scalloped (0.95mm gap) for over 3 months. Feathers work best, with Polsilvers being second best. I get 2-3 shaves from both.

The Timeless is the only razor that I have used in which the Polsilvers gave me a decent shave. The Timeless cuts my tough and course beard well, even with 3-4
Days growth. NO other razor can do that for me. I've pretty much used nothing else, since I got my Timeless.
Tried GSB and they were 'OK'. Nothing else seemed to work (Tried Voskhod and Astra SP).

I like the Personna Blues and the Vokshod in the Timeless Scalloped head with either the .95 or .68 normal baseplate, both give a great shave.

I use Gillette Silver Blues.  Astras gave me my first good shave off of the Timeless and then it was GSB from then on.

Going to try the feather tonight, little concerned it might be too aggressive with this blade.

When I use Caties bubbles I get a more comfortable shave and no neck irritation with the Timeless, had a feather in there today and the other day used a Polsilver, I believe, with Caties bubbles, but with CRSW and the Timeless my neck gets irritated, but before with the 34C CRSW was a perfect performer for me, weird how this all works.

In the 0.68 OC, I find the sharper blades to be best. Gillette Blacks and Platinums are my current favorites. Feathers worked well, though I don't use them much or in other razors.

Polsilvers and GSBs do work, but I don't feel these blades much. It may be more of a sensory issue. I will have to revisit them in the Timeless.

I use Astra SP, but to be honest, I haven't tried any other blade in my Timeless.  Astra seemed to work the best in my ATT, so I just carried it over.  I have Feather, Gillette, and Wilkinson blades sitting on my shelf that perhaps need another shot in the Timeless.

I normally prefer feathers in most razors, the sharper the better. It's hard to go wrong with proper technique and a ridiculously sharp Balder. I'm not sure why, but with the Timeless OC and Smooth in .95, I have had super results with Astra SP and polsilver. Im pretty sure I'll continue to feed mine Astras from now on.

Wizamet Super Iridium Extra Stainless blades performed very well in the .95 and .68 Timeless.  Feathers ripped my face to shreds in the .95.  It took a few days to recover.

Feathers did the same to me in the .95. With that being said, I use feathers in my r41 with no problems. I find it interesting how YMMV holds so true in our little hobby. Whats interesting to me is the way Astras feel so much sharper and smoother in my timeless than in many other razors. With the price difference between Astras and feathers, it's great that things worked out that way.

I have the .68 scalloped head and was surprised to learn that my beloved Personna Med Preps do not perform well in this razor. Feathers work very well, but the best of all by far for me with this razor are Timor blades. Smoothest razor and blade combo I have ever used.

I find the polsilver too much for my skin in the timeless, seems to take off more skin than in a 34C. In the Timeless I really like Astra blades as well as the Voskhod but the Voskhod I need to replace the blade every shave, but really like it.

Feathers in either the .95 or the .68 base, PolSilver Iridium as a second choice in the .95 base, not efficient enough in the .68 base.

I agree with Eric, though, about the Feather in the .95 base-it takes good prep, a stout lather, and a gentle touch.
