Hello guys wanted to share my first order from the old town shaving company. Thanks so much guys for your patience while I fixed the shipping problem!! I can't stress enough how good they were.

I'll let the picture do the talking

Those are all nice soap samples.  My only comment is that I cannot believe they put all that in one of those envelopes when it should have gone in a box.

Yes I thought so too!! But I think at one point I asked them to put in it in the smallest/compact packing as possible coz I got this forward shipped to Australia!! That was as experience in itself! The old shaving co DO NOT ship international!

That's a nice selection of soaps to go through.  I'm glad they made it to Australia in that packaging.  That's not even a padded envelope, although I see they wrapped the soaps in bubble wrap.

Nice haul, and I guess "all's well that ends well" on the packaging!

That's funny they had a sample of B&M Black Label Peppermint & Rosemary, it's been out of production for about a year now!

Sort of. The "Black Label" line was designed for retail shops, and was available in 4 different scents, being Orange Cedarwood, peppermint Rosemary, Lavender, and Beudelaire. Beaudelaire has since been reformulated to the Glissant base, which I believe all of their current 'White Label' line will be converted to. The Black Lavel line was a special formula designed to lather easily in hard water as well as not hard water. It's a great soap, and am a fan of all 4 of the scents. So in a sense, yes, it's sort of exotic. If you really like it you will have to frequent B/S/T forums  you can still find it that way, but most that have it still have it because they like it.

Good luck!

I bought a tub of that soap at Old Town two years ago when I first started wetshaving.  It was the first Artisan soap I'd ever tried and had the most amazing scent I'd ever smelled in a shaving soap.  It remains one of my favorites of all my soaps.  I will be sad the day I use it up.

BTW -- I think the ABC hard soap is no longer for sale in the US, or it's no longer being produced.  Another 5 star product to keep and horde.

What payment method did you choose? Is PayPal alright? I am also not in the CONUS and avoided Old Town shaving because I was under the impression that they can only sell to those in the US. I also have a forwarder located in the CONUS.

+1. They always ship like this as far as I'm aware. I ordered MDC from them maybe a year ago and my glass container was cracked. Didn't really effect anything but still...

I know there are many soap enthusiasts here. However, having tried a large majority of highly end soaps soaps, MDC is the way up on the top of best performers. It lathers so easily and is super full.

I wish he would ship to Canada.  I'd love to purchase samples to try out instead of a big jar.  I wrote to him once, but he said it's too much of a hassle shipping internationally—tons of paperwork.  He carries such a fine selection of products...
