I'm on the road at a hotel.
Let me first state that I miss my kids and wife immensely. I have a 2 year old son and a 4 month old daughter and I very rarely away from my family other than the work day or occasional night out withy the boys.
That said. WOW what a relaxing shave when nobody is crying screaming banging on the door, putting his hands in the toilet, taking off his diaper and peeing everywhere, trying to ride my dogs (2 eighty pound or bulls that are very good sports about it) getting yelled at that we have to go, etc., etc., etc.
A simple ej89 with a Kai blade, a well broken in omega pro and some CRSW Bergamont & Bay. Finished with some Nivea sensitive balm and voila'. What a wonderfully relaxing shave before the conference. The hotel even had a mug for me!
Okay now back to missing my family.

I know exactly what you mean...last year it was not uncommon for me to have 6 kids running around and getting ready for school in the morning. Wife left for work well before I had to leave with the kids.
not all were mine [I have 2 (ages 10 and 8), but I had my 2 nieces and 2 nephews (Ages 9,6,5 and 4) before school in the mornings too]
Enjoy the time my friend!

This is exactly why I wake up at 5:30 during the work week. Sure I enjoy sleeping in on the weekend and having my younger daughter join me for a shave or a nice small talk chat with the wife or older daughter while shaving, but during the week nothing gets the mood set for the day like a nice leisurely, quiet shave all by myself. It also helps me beat traffic and get some work done at the office before the employees come in, which in turn lets me leave early and go spend more time with my family in the evening.

You guys are so down to earth and wise
. This thread has so much going on. 1, family really is where it's at - appreciate these days now b/c like it was said, they're gone in the blink of an eye. 2, quiet time for your shave is a must. There are lots of things that can mess with a guy's day, and shavus interruptus is near the top of the list.
I tried waking up earlier to shave but that didn't work for me. I've always had a problem with waking up before sunrise. So now I ditch the tube for a half hour right before bedtime and shave then. Saturday morning is my only daytime shave. That's when I break out the Chubby 3 and take my sweet time.
Enjoy your shaves, gents. Wherever, whenever they may be

It won't be long and your children will use your shave time; to talk, bond and just have great memories. Your son; after watching his father, will look forward to wet DE shave as well. I know it can be hard, but really try to enjoy you time while their little and even in there teens. There is no rewind on the time. I have two boys; one grow up to marry and the other is at college; both out of state. That being said we have a lot of great memories and they talk to their Mom and Dad almost every day. Yes, I'm very blessed. I'm glad for you Chromedometone.
