Do you have too many soaps and creams?

I’m on holidays this week, and decided to clean the den. So, I discovered I have many, many soaps and creams in the drawers, the cupboard under the sink, and on a shelf.

There was the Tiki Bar phase. Six of them.

Then there was the Barrister & Mann phase. Four of them.

And, the list goes on.

Problem, many have pretty much lost their scent. All the Tiki Bar ones smell the same. Like, no difference at all. And, the scent is so mild you can’t really smell it until you rub your nose into it.

The Barrister & Mann have only a very light scent left.

Now, of course, once they’re wet they’ll come back to life a little more.

My Cella and Xpec are still very strong.

And, all these are just a couple years old. I only have about 20 soaps & creams, so they are getting used.

What about you dedicated collectors of creams & soaps? You know, you gentlement with 100, 200, 300…and maybe even more. You can’t be using yours very often, so are they drying out or losing their scent?

Do you have too many soaps and creams? What is an ideal number?

The useable rotation of excellent products is indeed excessive. But then there is also a sizable amount of soaps in storage that are put away from sight.

I try to exercise restraint in this category,  due to the soaps degrading over time.  However, it's difficult due to the number of great soaps available.

Will wait for Claus to answer, there's no telling how many he's got.

When I feel I have too much of anything weather it be soaps or razors, I give some away.

I'm content now; I've accumulated many over the years, and value the the opportunity to have tried and enjoyed so many.
These days, I'm focusing on a more simple and minimal attitude; less is more.  Key is focus, IMO.  Focus and hone in on the right and quality products that consistently work and deliver.

To the question...my answer is "yes, I have too many."  What is the ideal number?
Each of us gets to decide that for ourselves!

I think my soap numbers are also a bit excessive, but nowhere near a hundred. I am definitely slowing down now though, I've spent too much for comfort.

Yes. From looking at how long it's taking me to use up product, I'm guessing at least ten years worth of soap.

I think I have about 8 to 10 years of soap, too. It doesn't stop me considering buying some specific soaps - B&M Seville with the new glissant base, and Mike's Natural.

I actually have some DR Harris creams from 2011, that is now more croap like, but once I lathered it up the Arlington scent came to life and the performance was stellar.
