I just received an email from General Razor saying they will start taking pre-orders for their silver razor starting Nov. 6, at 10:00 am EST time on their site. They will take $5.00 off the price. So it will be $53.99.
That's a very good deal.

This group has great communication. Have you asked them any questions about their razor or had interactions? They respond promptly. I'm thrilled to see they are offering more of the silver anodized because IMO it is the best looking of the two razors.

Colonial Razors is offering a "pre-order" sale of the General in black for $39.95.  The razors are expected to ship in Jan.  The General is now my second favorite razor behind the OneBlade.

My favorite razor to date, smooth as can be, stretching techniques really make these artist club razors shine. I do use a stainless triad as the handle as I prefer a little heft

Smoother. Less aggressive. I use the Feather Pro as my primary blade for reference. The General gives a better shave for me.

The mongoose I used was already really smooth. I cant imagine being even less aggressive. Perhaps you are comparing to a V1 mongoose?

Looks like they are all sold out now anyways. Sad

Nope , I'm speaking specifically about the alumigoose.

I agree that the General gives a better shave, but I find it to be more aggressive than the Alumigoose V2.

Actually, I find a butter knife to be more aggressive than the Alumigoose 2. It only works at all for me with a Feather Pro Super blade.

YMMV, of course.

yes, but there were two versions of the Alumigoose.  The wider black one (V1) which I found very aggressive and then the slimmer head which was available in gunmetal / silver / black (V2) and notably milder.  To which are you referring?  I'm also interested in the General but wouldn't want one if it's milder than the V2.

I had both versions of alumigoose, the second was an improvement but still too harsh for me as a daily shaver. The General has the right amount of efficiency for me. The cost of a General is very reasonable and definetly worth a try. I would not let opinions dissuade you. Good Luck.

Thank you.  Ignoring the shipping costs to the UK, you're right - the cost of the General is very enticing...

I may be wrong but I can't imagine a very small razor being crazy shipping costs to the UK, especially if you get just the head. Good luck with your decision, great shaver
