I keep trying Williams as a shave soap every few months, and I always decide not to waste time on it after a few uses. It's not that I can't get a good lather with it - I can; but there are so many better products in my den that I generally decide not to take the time with Williams anymore and relegate it to a 'pre-shave prep' soap.

Anyway, I recently decided to just use it as a bath soap, and I have to say that it does really excel there. It produces a lovely lather, seems to clean well, and wears out slowly.

The citronella scent is something I actually like, so that's not an issue.

The best part about it is that it really does seem to help my dry skin. I seem to be having less trouble with that, since I started using Williams as my bath soap.

The price is decent, and as I said, it's a hard soap that gets used only very slowly - so it's rather good value for money.

I know that other guys eventually relegate Williams to the bath too, so what are your impressions of it as a bath soap?

I do the same thing. In the wintertime my skin really gets dry so I use old soap slivers collected, old soaps that aren't being used (including Williams), soak them in water overnight, boil, add glycerin, and pour into either cupcake molds or into a pan and cut it in chunks to use. It's a nice, soft soap and is a lifesaver in the winter.

Yes, I found the same thing to be true with Williams. Unfortunately my local source of Williams has dried up. Angry

I haven't tried this yet, but DOVO soap (google it) is supposed to have a similar scent and be formulated to be a bath/shower soap. There are a number of scents from what I remember, you'll need to pick the right one.

DOVOs manufacturer is the same as ARKO.

There is a source of DOVO in Canada (Montreal area?).

I have used Williams as bath soap in the past. It does a much better job for me as a bath soap than a shave soap.

As a result of this thread, I purchased a puck for the sole purpose of using it as a shower soap. It's fantastic!

The local supply is seriously depleted so anyone can blame me for that. Wink
