Along with yesterday's release of brushes, Paladin offered, for the first time, a new line of tallow shaving soaps.  It's possible the soaps were lost in all the excitement about the brushes.  I was not able to get a brush, but did order two of the new soaps - Natchez Trace (Bay, Pine, Cedar), and Tobacco Road (Spices, Leather, Pipe Tobacco).  I was also interested in Silk Road (Vetiver, Lavender, Anise), but have to keep the number of soaps in my rotation manageable and will wait until I finish some of the soaps I currently have.

This is a good time to commence a thread about this new line of soaps from Paladin.

Did you order any of the soaps and which ones?

Once you receive your soaps, what are your impressions?

Not sure who makes the soap but I ordered Pythian Way (lilium, woods, vanilla). I'll report back when I get a chance to try the soap out.

I missed this weekend's release due to previously scheduled plans, but had I been able to get a brush I would have surely snagged a soap to go with it.  I can't imagine the performance would be anything less than stellar knowing the company's commitment to quality, so the only question would be how the scents are blended and how strong that fragrance is.  The ingredients list enhances my assumptions as well.

That's more than B&M, Tallow+Steel, or basically any top-level artisan. Approaches the price of Jabonman's premium line and C&S triple-milled soaps.

In short, far too much for an unproven player. I too look forward to hearing more about this soap's performance, but at that price I'm probably gonna pass.

Agreed

Jabonman premium is only €20 = $22
Yes way more than any premium artisans

Tried the Tobacco Road this morning.  Lovely fragrance, good lather, nice container.  But at $28, I don't know if I'll purchase more.  Seems like there are a lot of good alternatives out there for $20 or less.

It would be better if it was the guy who created the Strop Shoppe
I really like the Strop Shoppe.
Especially Carnaby and Baker Street

I was joking. I don't care who makes it as long as it's good You'll find no bigger fan of Ken and Co. than me.

Had a hard time with my Tobacco Road today. Not sure if my brush was too new or what. I'll have a better review for next time.

The container is amazing and I love the scent, just had a hard time with lather today. Sad
