in my rather limited experience, Mikes followed by Mystic Waters.
They both provide excellent protection and sickness with a thinner lather than what I use for DE shaving.

Same ones you like for safety razors. I just wouldn't start with the most slippery soaps (i.e. Stirling, maybe MW for me) because those make stretching more difficult. If you like pasty lather, then I'd suggest adding more water tan usual.

Baume.be, Esbjerg, and Alvarez Gomez are all winners for me in addition to those already mentioned.

I use any soap I like with straights or DE razors. More than 90% of my daily shaves are done with straights.

It shouldn't matter, good soap is good.

Pretty much any soap you use for regular wet shaving with the exception of canned goo should work if prepped right, I currently have 8-10 soaps/croaps/creams in rotation and all work well and i only use straights except for Sundays, on Sunday I use one of several vintage DE/SE razors with vintage Old Spice.

You primarily want a slick lather for straights. Any quality soap with adequate hydration will produce a slick lather. I recently discovered L&L, after reading some reviews of it by Bouki on the Soap-a-Week Club thread, and it's one of the slickest soaps I've ever used. I also find I Coloniali, Mike's, Barrister & Mann, Czech & Speake, and Santa Maria Novella to be very slick, but there are many others. Pick a quality soap, then add water in small amounts until you think it can't hold any more, then add a few drops more, and you'll have a nice slick lather that is ideal for straights.

I Coloniali Mango is extremely slick, but get it while there's some left. Castle Forbes and SdM are great too.

Cheers, Steve

Thank you all, guys!

Want to buy L&L and Tallow+Steel soaps, but don't like complex flavors.
What flavors advise from these makers?
