Hi All,

Some of you may know that I have been making my own shaving soap for a few years. I really had no intention of selling it when I started - this was before the explosion of artisanal soap-makers on the forums - and it was really just a fanciful diversion for me.

But over the years I've had several faithful members ask me for the soap from time to time. Sometimes I'd have some to sell but it was hit and miss. So after years of procrastinating, I've finally decided to try to sell some in a more organized way - and have now gotten to the point where I want to give folks a heads up to watch for more information on it over the next couple of weeks. For now I am planning a one-time limited release of about 100 pucks in various scents that will be available before Christmas, just to gauge what the demand is like and also to see if I can handle subsequent releases. I will be selling it under the name DESMOND'S BARROW.

So Scritchnscrub's (or SnS) shaving soap, as it has previously been known, is now Desmond's Barrow Shaving Soap.  It was always tallow based and after much thought I have added lanolin to it as well - I'm very pleased with the new formulation.

Please watch for more information here.

Thanks so much!

Peter

I'm going to guesstimate that you will sell out your soap in less than ten minutes upon release.  As with all highly touted products on a limited release there will be a frenzy followed by a bunch of people complaining that they didn't get to buy any.  I think a limited production/release with a well thought out price point could be a nice profitable venture. You could do a new release whenever you have time. As long as the soap lives up to the hype you will continue to be successful.  I look forward to seeing how this works out for you.  Good luck!

Splendid news!
I am afraid you will sell out in ten seconds, but if not I'll gladly take one of those Mossly Limes!
