I am waiting patiently for one of these two piece scuttles in all black on its way from Germany. You can't tell by the picture buts its a bowl in a bowl. The lower bowl is filled with hot water and the upper bowl is inserted and used for making lather. The lather will be kept warm during the shave process.

Looks nice Jerry. I like the two piece design a lot. I have one from Lady Sea and it has supplanted my Moss Scuttle.

This one has a nice overlapping lip around the lower bowl for easy removal when the shaving is finished.

He is an excellent potter. My Schwarzweisskeramik is probably my favorite scuttle.

I have a Schwarzweisskeramik basic scuttle, freestyle shaving mug, and several soap lids and rests and am very pleased with their quality and performance. Ansgar does excellent work and his service is first rate.

I will be interested in reading your review of the DUO scuttle.

I really like my Schwarzweisskeramik scuttle, although it is so large that it's almost unwieldy. What are the dimensions of your Duo? Is it really big enough for lathering with a brush?

How much water can you add to the lower bowl before worrying about it sloshing out the sides when adding the top bowl?

I have no idea since I didn't get the scuttle yet. But past experience with a similar type If I remember you can only fill them up about half way.

And not cheap either but you get what you pay for. I never heard anyone say anything negative about them that is why I ordered one. And they look good as well.

It appears my DUO has arrived at my local Post Office this morning. Maybe I will get it today (I am hoping).

Got the DUO today and already tried it out. Works great and keeps my lather nice and warm. The outer bowl has swirls at the bottom to help make and keep the lather from climbing the walls. I filled the bottom bowl with water (not too much) and nuked it for 120 seconds.
