I've put away my Nokia Lumia Windows phone and replaced it with an iPhone 6s.

What are "must have" apps and "must do tips." And how can I transfer photos and texts from the old phone? Or can I?

There's an app called 'Tips & Tricks' that's super easy to follow and shows you things you didn't know your phone did.

As far as transferring pictures, your provider should be able to transfer them over for, but back it up on a computer before you hand your old phone over to transfer, just incase...

I don't know about the texts, you can ask your service provider or the Apple Store.

Hi Max, you should download iTunes on your PC first. iPhones are very reliant on iTunes.

Must have apps.. it really depends on your interest but on the appstore, there are top charts there and categories for stuff you maybe interested in.

They don't have to be - I abandoned iTunes about 4 years ago with my phone, much happier!

I've gotten a lot of good information and tips for my iPhone from David Pogue's "iPhone: The Missing Manual" book. I don't know if it's been updated for iPhone 7 yet.

If your contacts and pictures were saved in the cloud you can easily transfer them to the iPhone 6s. Congratulations that is a nice phone. My wife just got the iPhone 7 and I received the iPhone SE. Great phones.

Can I get them from a MS OneDrive cloud to the iPhone?

Like most other things, there is an app for that. See https://support.office.com/en-us/article...47cb7da0a4 and https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/microsof...37958?mt=8

Verizon should be able to help you transfer things. As for apps; it all depends on what you find useful. I travel and do environmental and construction work, so there are some I find very necessary.

Weather, My Radar, Waze, Tiny Scanner, HHonors, Ebay, Amazon, Bible Gateway, ODB, Pandora, Etsy, (your)Bank, Google earth, Google Translate, Spotify, iTunes, and Google.

I don't consider that I have that many, but many of those I use multi times of the day.

I hope this helps. Thumbsup

I too switched from a Nokia Lumia to an iPhone about 18 months ago. Trying to transfer stuff was a nightmare so I paid my daughter  to input all of my contacts etc for business. You will be a lot happier with this phone!

BTW, not only can you hard press the thumbnail in the camera app to access a slideshow preview, you can hard press a _2nd_ time and "pop" into the Photos app (for edit, tagging, etc.), and you can return to the camera with 'Done', or go to All Photos to access the complete Photos app, then use 'Back to Camera' to get directly back to the camera app. Love this new navigation/workflow control.
