I'm with you.  I have been waiting for reviews myself.  This razor looks great, even though the handle looks pretty plain.  I love the Grackle DOC with the handle backed-off a bit, and my favorite overall razor is the R41, so I am hoping with the Evolution combining the new DOC design with an increase in aggressiveness will make it a great razor.  I was hoping it would have been a tad less expensive, but I really want to see more comments of owners.

Seriously?
With a plethora of BS social media venues propagating and shilling 'brands' like PAA, why ask here?

Smythe or whatever his name may be, is peddling dubious crap, IMO.
Those who subscribe to this nonsense, so be it.
I maintain that my money is better spent with artisans/vendors who are honorable, honest, and legitimately respectable.

But Ravi, he sells glow in the dark shaving soap... Who can top that?

All kidding aside, smythe is another in a long line of soap makers looking to profit at the expense of others. Bragging about a cease and desist order and then naming a soap after it is not what I would consider a class act... Others may think differently. More power to you.

Ouch.  I always had positive experiences with their products and enjoy them.  I know of the drama, but I choose not to get bogged down in it.  There hasn't been much on the web about this razor, so I do question if it is any good.  I do think he over priced it.  To each their own, but I have not removed Doug from my list of vendors that I will deal with.

As I've already stated, to each his/her own.
IMO, there are valid reasons why certain people, including 'Smythe' have been banned from legitimate forums.
I ask people to think carefully; don't waste your money on BS for the sake of saving a few bucks.
Think quality, integrity, and more importantly about where your $ are going.

I believe PAA is a decent company that provides quality merchandise. Quite a few items they sell are replicas of razors you can't get with out going broke. As with any business there here to make money  while providing their service. I feel the product is reasonably priced. To chew out there business is unnecessary; there are companies that are raved about on here that sell their product for 5 to 10 times their price.

I'm so cheap; it'll be amazing if I purchase a Rockwell 6S someday. I'm not saying that razor that cost more aren't worth the money; I'm saying "I" can't justify buying one for myself.

My comment was not an answer to your post, it was a thought of me about this PAA razor.

No worries, just throwing my thoughts out there.

Get the Rockwell 6S. By far and away my favorite razor that I have used. One Benjamin vs. great shaves for the rest of your life.  Thumbup

+1. 6s is fantastic razor.

As for OP, I don't know, I just heard it's much more aggressive than the zamak DOC.

PAA Evolution is one of the most efficient razor I've ever used. Most important thing in wet shaving is YMMV.

I can understand someone using the products and then criticizing it but without using and criticizing is wrong

I heard it was as aggressive as the R41, have you used the R4? and how would you compare it to that razor? or to other razors you are using? Also what blade are you using that you like in the PAA Evo.

Thanks

I like R41 but i don't get a smooth shave with it. PAA is smooth, aggressive and very efficient. You should try it. Another efficient razor I like is Ikon Tech. I use Gillette Silver Blue blades

I don't have an axe to grind or an agenda to fulfill ... but I have used one.  Had it on loan for week or so alongside one or two other top brand stainless razors that we're all familiar with - i.e. a selection of 'Timeless' baseplates, top caps and one of their handles that were on a "passaround" and a Wolfman.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Timeless kit but the PAA was fascinating to use side by side with other nice stuff. Most noticeable was the feel of the thing on your face.  Very full on and, I suppose you'd say, aggressive.  Has a different feel to the R41 (which I own) but, of course, vastly more expensive than the R41 and both are supremely efficient if you're seeking closeness.  I won't buy one as I have enough other stuff to be going on with, but I have to say if the price was right (which it isn't, especially as I'm not in the US) then it would be "interesting" to own one.
